Well done to you. Can we ask what date this was sold to you by Norton as some people on here are having trouble gaining access to FOS for complaints against this firm.

You have certainly give me a boot up the backside to get my complaint off to the Ombudsman, I was beginning to think no one could win against Norton, you have given me some much needed hope. Clare .

    Hi TMARSHALL,

Congratulations on your victory against Norton!

I too have just had success against them - my complaint (for PPI of around £5k on a redeemed mortgage with Swift Advances taken out in May 2006) was upheld by the FOS last year but Norton refused to comply. It went to an ombudsman who found in my favour last week. I have been told to expect delays of up to 12 weeks in processing my refund, so no cheque as yet.

Hope you get your refund very soon!

You'd think that the FOS would come down harder on them for messing people around.

    Hi ANYCHANCE

    Thank you :D

I will of course keep you updated regarding the refund from Norton. My complaint was originally upheld by the FOS adjudicator, but apparently Norton didn't respond when the FOS told them of their decision. This meant that the process had to start all over again and be investigated by an actual ombudsman, who I was informed could reach a different decision than the adjudicator. However, he too found in my favour and as I have accepted his decision it is now legally binding on both myself and Norton. The FOS said to expect payment to take up to 12 weeks, but to contact them in 4 weeks if nothing has been heard from Norton - the 4 weeks takes us to the end of May, so keeping my fingers crossed that they will make contact although I'm expecting problems so not holding my breath!

It would be interesting to hear how TMARSHALL gets on also.........and apologies to them for hijacking their thread!

    Will keep you all posted.
