Online Order Cancelled Due to incorrect price

I saw a TV which was advertised at an extremely cheap price online. I bought it using my credit card and received a confirmation email. I subsequently received the following email.
"....We regret to inform you that we have had to cancel your order number xxxxxxxxxxx.
For credit card payments no funds will be captured. If you paid by Paypal, a full refund is currently being processed.
As you will have noticed the price of the product sold was a typing error: the price was below the real value of the item and in no way reflective of the real value.
Legally, the order is not valid as the price is deemed vile.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please note the error has been corrected and you can now place a new order for the same item. This will be dealt with immediately."
Although I haven't been charged for the item, I did buy it in good faith. Could anyone please tell me where I stand legally. Could I legitimately pursue the vendor to honour the original price here?
Thanks in advance.

Was this through pixmania by any chance? £199 for a tv with rrp £1,369
No have no legal right to buy. Legally you offer to buy and then the merchant accepts or declines your offer, this is done by dispatching the item. So no, you can't make the vendor honour the price.0 -
That's really what I figured. Worth asking though!0

Tried to buy one also, along with half the country, did not think I would ever get one at that price.
Worth a try tho, refund went back through quickly0 -

P.S. Why on earth would the original post be included in the weekly newsletter?0 -

You are talking about the TV from Pixmania right?
Firstly, you knew 100% it was a price error......if IIRC it £199 when it should've been £1499.
Secondly, its an inviotation to buy, and that is all.
Even if they take the money it makes no difference. The contrat is only bindoing when you receive the goods.
Thirdly, did you know they are based in France anyway?
( i tried to buy 3 :P)0 -
