Brixham - child friendly places?

Hello, we have rented a cottage in Brixham for May half term and are looking for "Must do" places to visit. We have 5 children from 3 - 13 and also need nice places to eat as they don't like Mcdonalds, but we don't like the prices of places they do like!
I have been to Torquay in the past so will do Paigton zoo and the model village.
Thank you

Berry Head is interesting and the Berry Head Hotel is good for food (especially Sunday carvery - but get there for 12pm sharp!!!). Not sure what the cost is for the carvery now though - not been there for a couple of years. It's a beautiful part of the country - have a great holiday there.

We intend to enjoy ourselves, just in need of ideas... Our children like proper food, carvery is excellent.

Paignton zoo, steam train, trip on the ferry to Dartmouth, Woodlands park. Loads of places to eat, everything from McDs to traditional fish and chips, lots of pubs with nice food. When are you going?

Sorry I missed the first post. I think the waterpark at Goodrington might be opening that week. Rainbow funhouse is good, Living Coast (you can get a ticket for zoo and living coast) My kids liked KentsCavern. Talk of the Town just reopening as Weatherspoons so reasonably priced meals there. There is a Round Robin ticket where you can get steam train, then ferry over to Dartmouth then boat up to Totnes and open top bus back to Paignton. That is a nice trip.

The Big Sheep and Crealy are good, North Devon but both are a full day out, you can use tesco CC vouchers for The Big Sheep.

House of Marbles at Bovey Tracey is really good too, free admission, watch the glass being made into shapes, little play area outside and a lovely little cafe you can eat at, home made foods. Lovely. http://www.houseofmarbles.com/the-house-of-marbles-at-bovey-tracey

Also Diggerland at Cullumption (check before you go though, it only opens at weekends and school holidays) http://www.diggerland.com/visiting/AboutDevon.htm You can also use CC Voucher but they need to be sent off for before you go.

Also Dartington Crystal, the kids can have a cast of their hands made from glass, quite pricey (around £25 I think) but it is special, I have one for both of my kids but they can send it on to you in the mail if you cannot pick it up: http://www.dartington.co.uk/about/visitors-centre/ They are in Torrington. On this page they have a 2 for 1 voucher for the factory tour, which cost around £3 each I think when we went.

There is also a Donkey Sanctury in Sidmouth: http://drupal.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/visit

I personally love this site: http://www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/search.php?county=Devon I've chosen Devon as your option, now you just have to decide where to go but Dorset is not too far a drive so have a look at that too.

Grab them a crab line, bucket and a couple of mackerel and you will probably find they will spend quite a long time crabbing off the harbour wall. Paignton harbour was better for this actually :-)
There are a couple of really good pubs on the harbourside in Brixham offering a range of meals, inc kids options/portions too
There are a couple of mackerell fishing boats which will hire you everything you need and take you out for the day too
