I juat use human baby sun cream factor 50. TJ has had a melonoma so I am extra careful. Remember the tips of ears and tails. Just like us really.

I put the dry dog food into sandwich/freezer bags and then i can just grab a bag and pour it out for each meal or half twice a day rather than taking a big bag and scoop.
We have a bottle with a bowl thing attached for taking on walks, like this one from PAH, but you can probably find something similar cheaper.
A torch is handy for late night loo walks if where your staying isn't well lit and wet wipes have always have 1001 uses from cleaning your own hands to the dog.0 -

Baby wipes for when a poo gets stuck to his fur or his eyes are messy...
we just came back from taking our new pooch away. We had a lovely time but I'm not sure how much fun it would have been if it had rained. I don't do anything but poo walks in the rain. There are so few places you can take a dog inside these days. When I was a kid I recall being able to take our small dog in everywhere, including very many cafes.0 -

We have found some great places that let you take your 4 legged friends in. I always check out the places we fancy visiting before we go now it makes it easier. I even phone up in advance just to make suure they still let well behaved dogs in.
Sat in the car with a plastic cup of tea and a wet dog trying to sit on your knee isnt fun is it lol.
Check out dog friendly, its like a bible for us now. (Nothing to do with us)

Our dogs come on all our holidays with us ,It would not be a holiday without them

We have been really lucky and the places we go even shops ,pubs ets welcome well behaved dogs but we always check out a reputable boarding kennel nearby that does hourly /daily boarding ,just in case the kids want to visit a theme park or attraction or something where dogs are not welcome.
Oh and we have those cheap plastic tags on each dog as an addition to their usual tags and chip ,just to give the address of where we are staying to aid a quick return if anything happened ,saves going through the chipping company etc .0 -
Daily boarding sounds like a good idea - I checked out the dog friendly britain site, which was where I found my accomodation, but all I could find were outside areas that accept dogs. Not fun in the rain.0

As well as the tick remover you might want to give your dog one of the treatments that repel ticks. Our dog got a tick in Dorset last summer and this year so far 2 ticks walking in local fields. We are in KENT!! I am planning to get the Frontline that also deals with ticks ASAP.Ellie
