47" LED Widescreen 1080p HD TV - £199 @ Pixmania price error

I didn't order, but I'm loving watching what happens. It's interesting to see what Pixmania do, and I never know, maybe one day I will get in on a bargain like that.
I hope some people from here get them. Well only the people who only ordered one, not the greedy ones who ordered multiples!
I do find it quite funny how angry some people are getting, especially on HDUK. I mean seriously, there are some KeRaZy people out there! :eek:0 -

This was obviously a mistake. Anyone who thought otherwise is naive. Therefore a gamble was taken about whether or not it would be recieved. Now that the mistake has been realised and orders are being cancelled people are getting irate and threatening legal action and so on. Grow up.
This is better than gambling because you had nothing to lose. You will get your money back. Not one person on any of the threads has stated anything other than a desire to make a killing. No-one could put their hand on their heart and say they were misled. I hope that some still do get there orders processed. Best of luck. For the others - move on.
seems the litigation mob have moved over here too complete with their solicitor0 -
We regret to inform you that we have had to cancel your order number CCL118080257.
For credit card payments no funds will be captured. If you paid by Paypal, a full refund is currently being processed.
As you will have noticed the price of the product sold was a typing error: the price was below the real value of the item and in no way reflective of the real value.
Legally, the order is not valid as the price is deemed vile.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please note the error has been corrected and you can now place a new order for the same item. This will be dealt with immediately.

:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
I too purchased one of these TVs last night after a friend of mine sent me a link to the site. He then told me this morning that they’d started to cancel the orders. This immediately prompted me to speak to their customer services department who assured me that this was a special offer and it would be definitely be honoured. My order appeared as having been “validated” for an hour or so but now I am seeing a "Your order has been cancelled" message. The customer services phone number now appears to be down.
I do hope that they are true to their word and do honour the transactions. Nonetheless I have read their terms and conditions to verify if they can cancel in this way but from what I can see they can't.
Just to let you know that previously worked for Trading Standards and I am a solicitor and partner in a law firm and feel just as disgruntled about the way this company is treating its customers. With that in mind and in order to make sure that they don’t get away with it I am starting to collate details of other buyers with the view of commencing a class action against Pixmania and others for breach of contract and/or misrepresentation. I’ve read previous posts about the company and the way it treats its customers. If these posts are true, it may be that they feel they can get away with because for smaller value purchases most people aren’t going to bother taking them to court. However, a class against them will put the power back in the hands of the consumer, so if you’re interested please email me at consumerlitigation@veritassolicitors.co.uk with full details including the full name and address of the buyer (and of the payee if different).
If anyone has a screen shot of the product information before they purchased it which showed the 85% discount I would be grateful if they could forward me a copy. Veritas Solicitors LLP is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
I'm just being cautious here, nothing personal meant, but...
Can you provide some verification that you are who you say you are please? Your name and a link to a website giving your firm's name, address and list of partners would be a good start.
Also, what would the costs be to anyone participating in a class action?
ThanksMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

If they want to talk law, then legally it is binding if money is taken (and not simply authorised on the card). Whatever the price may be! To some unknowledgeable people, it may well have looked like a genuine discount of 85%. What makes a price "vile" exactly? What if they had mistakenly put the price up as £50 lower than it should be? £100? £200? £300? Where's the line and who says exactly?! I am sure many users of these forums have come across many deals where a price is genuinely reduced by 85% (no stupid DFS tricks) and they have received the item, or walked off with it from the shop shelf.0
