Streamline.net cancellation problem.

  • Following a ticket request to cancel my account, I recieved a phone call from streamline today.

The lady on the phone told me I cannot cancel because of some previous email amd the want nearly £80 for renewal. She kept pointing out it's in the T&C's but I kept pointing out I'm not paying for a service I do not want. She offered me a discount, which I accepted but informed her I will be canceling the account. She then widthdrew the discount right away.

I also take care of a few other websites hosted by streamline, tried the old "will stop using them on the other accounts too" didn't phase her at all.

Like others here, they have not got my current credit card details. Also since last payment I've changed banks as well so they have little to no chance of getting anything off me.

I would just like to know if anyone has stood their ground in this situation and what was the outcome?

The phone call ended with me informing them that I will be seeking advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau before I even consider any form of payment. As it stands I have no intention of paying for something I do not want.

Did you abide by the T&Cs regarding cancellation? If not I can't see how they are to blame
