The account is not OD, do I need to tell the bank I am planning to go bankrupt?
No, but you should move your main banking away from any bank you have debt with ASAP.

I am just awaiting some papers from CAB through post. How long from submitting papers does it take to become BR?

What papers are you waiting for? Normal process is you call the court and book a bankruptcy date which could vary on waiting time depending on how busy the court is. Then you go bankrupt on that day.

The person is sending me more information regarding DMP and IVA so all bases have been covered even though I know I want to go BR. I know I can fill relevant forms online and submit.

Even though you submit them on line, you will still have to contact your local court to see what type of appointment system they use.

I've no experience of online applications, just helping clients to go bankrupt the 'normal' way. Did you advisor feel an IVA was an option? Personally I think that unless you have a genuine reason for avoiding bankruptcy an IVA would be unlikely to be suitable..

I am getting BR forms aswell I think the advisor said. The advisor thought BR was best option for me but wanted me to be aware of all options as she didn't have her laptop with her. I did mention I had been using this site for advice so already knew BR was the only choice.

I have phoned the court and could have had an appointment tomorrow but haven't managed to get funds together, so May 5th is the date. Didn't think it would be so quick
