mobileaddict refusing to take phone back

Hi I succumbed to a cold call from mobileaddict as my current contract is due to expire. I am on 3 Network and because it is my business mobile I asked if they could transfer my existing number as all my customers use this number/it's on my paperwork etc.

When I asked him, the call centre correspondent said I would initially be issued with a new number but when my current contract expires all I had to do was ring 3 customer services and they would transfer my old number to my new phone.

Much later I discovered through another mobile company that 3 Network don't transfer numbers. I rang mobileaddict and they refuse point blank to take back the phone as I have had it over 7 days. I said it was only over 7 days as I originally had no intention of returning the phone as they had said I could keep my existing number.

They have found the call centre tape that backs up what I say but still refuse and I have written to their customer services manager but have heard nothing back in 5 days.

Any advice as to how to proceed would be most welcome.

Sounds as if you were mis-sold a contract here. (I think)
I would write to them cancelling everything with immediate effect and see what they say.

    Hi,

I shuddered when I read this! They got my ex-dir TPS phone number from somewhere (I suspect Onetel sells lists, but can't prove it) Their telemarketers in darkest Bombay harassed me for months! I can't understand why they can be *stupid* enough to pester someone who used every method under the sun to get rid of them!

Because of this, I always felt they must be operating a scam.

if they admit the recording call OFCOM report everything, get a reference number and call 3's executive office with that REF no and they will investigate

3 release your info to authorised 3rd party dealers as do Orange, you need to call customer services at 3 ( good luck ! ) and request your details be kept PRIVATE - same with Orange
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
