I'm having SKY Multiroom installed and would like to know if most of the work is done outside?
I also live in a Town house that has a ground floor, first floor and second floor. I've heard that some engineers refuse to carry out the installation if it's too high up and my sky multi room box is going to be on the first floor while the standard box will go on the second floor.

That's correct, due to your standard box going in the second floor, under Sky's H&S rule it'll have to be carried out by either Sky's 'Special Heights' team or an outside contractor.
Sky also dont install the dish on the chimney/roof as a rule.Best you call Sky & tell them or the installer,in all likelyhood, will cancel the job on arrival.

If i decided to cancel the multi room subscription and just get the SKY HD BOX fitted into the sitting room then the standard sky box moved to the upper floor and just watch the same channels that are showing downstairs will the special heights team still be needed?

Two boxes (HD & a standard box) is still multi-room.Both these will need to connected to a fixed, working phone line, the connections to the sky boxes will be ran by the installer back to the main phone point.
If the standard box is going into the upper floor then yes,Special Heights may still be needed as this is still higher than a standard house.
Do you already have a Sky dish installed & where?

Then he should be able to route the cable from the inside out down to the dish. It's hard to judge without seeing the layout.

I think I will just cancel the multi room and just replace the standard sky box with the Sky HD box. Hopefully i should be able to do that without any problems. Called sky to find out but their systems were down.
