Help - fine from DVLA re no road tax!

  • I agree that as we did drive the van with no tax that we should have expected some kind of repurcussion.

    I think what is one of the most frustrating things is that we wouldn't have done it intentionally and yet there are others who do this type of thing on a daily basis and get away with it - there is a post on this forum about the cost of fines vs insurance and whether it is worth risking it as the fines work out cheaper!

    Incidently, the advice that I was after was how to get the surety refunded and turns out that I will have to make a 100 mile round trip to present my new tax disc to my 'local' DVLA office in Swansea....

    Never known a post office to open on a sunday either.

    plenty open on Sundays,however IME not those that offer road tax services
