    question ladies.

would any of you be offended if your mid twenties neighbour wanted to know if your 11year old daughter wanted some of her old makeup? im talking things like benfit and laura mercier etc that are to good to throw away but just wont get used.

im a bit of a make up junkie!

eta, i suppose i should say i only really know them to say hi to, but dont know anyone down here and just remeber when i was that age i loved playing about with makeup.

:o I was joking... I forget some things get lost in translation on t'internet, sorry.
s'ok... I knew that... you're just looking for reasons to avoid doing any work :p:p

Don't worry... May 5th is AGES away (it'd better be... I have a presentation to get written and approved by the 7th :o

Anyway, relationship counselling is now over... I pointed out that being online and talking to me wasn't going to solve the problem. Talking to the person who is actually there in the same house is what really needs to be done...

But its good to know that men are pretty much the same the world over. The crazy thing is that he can articulate the problem to me and not the person that matters... I did point out this wasn't necessarily because I was any different and that I have had exactly the same problems in my own relationships (I do NOT need there to be any confusion at all on this... as most of you know I have enough problems with older married men without adding to them!) which is why I live on my own...

Oh well... I just hope it's been helpful. I suppose I should go to bed as I have rather a lot of gardening, flying AND work to do tomorrow!

    As it's the weekend -
If you are invited to a party (birthday/anniversary) and you decline are you expected to still send a present, bearing in mind you don't normally exchange b'day/xmas presents with them?

Absolutely not and it would be very rude of them to expect a present even if you did go!

I don't do cards anyway so I wouldn't send one of those either!

Not offended no.. but I would think of the hygiene issues and the fact make up can 'go off'.. how old is this stuff for a start.. lipstick with 6 month old germs and skin cells from you neighbour? Eye pencils with bacteria growing on them? Mascara with goodness knows what and he occasional mite in it.. used last time the neighbour had conjunctivitis?....

I wouldn't use most make up (other than foundation and my 11 year old wouldn't be wearing any make up at all!!!) after my daughter had used it!!

Sharing/swapping make up is almost as gross as wearing their dirty underwear!

I've cleared and hoovered the loft stairs and the tiny landing at the bottom - hope NN won't be too cross with me, as it was quite late. I really don't want to do more, but I've promised myself a bath after three more jobs:
    [STRIKE]Put clean towels away[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Tidy said landing[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Tidy bottom of DS1's wardrobe[/STRIKE]

If DH isn't back yet when I'm out of the bath I may just sort through the small amount of clean washing in the basket. - Not likely, as I'm only about to get the bath (and a shandy) ready.

See you all in the morning.

    Morning lovely flyladies,
HS473949fjm3tcg78d_7404.gifHappy Birthday Gunsandbanjos - have a great day
Lamewolf - The drug is supposed to help control the nausea and heartburn and as I am still throwing up I guess it would have helped a lot. I am still waiting for my GP and the hospital to talk to each other so I can have it.
Toots - hugs.gifI have 24 small tadpoles in a bowl and about 18 bigger ones in the tank of which four have all four legs but haven't absorbed the tails yet. And I never intended it to be a hobby, I brought some frogspawn in for my nephews two summers ago so they could watch them developed and really enjoyed the process so now every spring, I am the tadpole queen!
Jinkypinks - kiss.gif I loved the 'Mad as a box of frogs thing!'
LadyL - smooch.gif Big hugs honey.
Soappie - Congrats on being called for an interview
    Natty -

Had a horrible 24hrs. Hope today is better.

Love to all and hope everyone has a good day. With love, light and

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

I would send a small gift if it were a "special" birthday/anniversary (silver wedding or 50th birthday) otherwise just a card.

I wouldn;t be offended, but some people might balk at hygiene :o

I appear to have accidentally registered on the Crocus Plants website - any idea how that happened (hex2 :naughty::D ). I can see them decluttering several of their plants my way :o Do you know if they have a paper catalogue - can;t see one on the website?

I'm also after a bench for my garden - and suggestions as to the best place to buy online?

I'm up early as I had a letter to the local paper (and one of the election candidiates) in my head, so I've decluttered that, and hope I can now get more sleep :D

Only children's rooms to do today, but DS has carked his knee playing football (it's now nearly the size of a football  ) so I may need to do his bed and hoovering *roll eyes smilie*

See you all later, Penny. x

    Morning all

    And happy birthday G&B

We actually has a small misting of rain this morning so I've been out in my dressing gown and whipped the stuff I left out overnight on line off it and brought it in. It's only a smidgeon damp so I got out there in time.

I have no plans for the day. I shall just see where it takes me..

    Morning all

    Many thanks for your comments.
Actually you all confirmed my thoughts. I just didn't want to write an epic and bore you all :rotfl:
If I can pare it down
I met the couple many years ago through my oldest friend - however in recent years she has lost touch with them apart from xmas cards - I have kept in touch and called in on them on my own (so now class them as my own friends)
When we spoke about the invitation she seemed to have decided not to go - wouldn't know anyone apart from couple (neither would I, but they have come to two events of mine)
Then suggested we could go halves on a present 4.gif
That caused the question as I couldn't see why she was sending a present if she wasn't going.
Not sure if she will change her mind if she thinks I am going to accept.

Sorry that turned into a marathon (and I could probably go on)

    Morning lovelies!

Happy Birthday G&B :bdaycake: have a lovely day xx

Need to go food shopping today, and perhaps a trip to somewhere that sells good plant pots (ceramic variety) OH's got 2 yukka plants? brown spiky things that he wants rid of so need compost too, I'm a complete novice to gardening so I just presume I buy multi-purpose compost and big pots. Gonna look into a compost bin and water butt too, the council sell both for around £8 each but will compare prices first. Need to cut grass too.

I've got the cough from hell at the moment, leftovers from the cold that teenie so generously gave me a couple of days ago *rolls eyes* 2nd brew time then a look at the garden to see what's what.
