    Good evening flyladies

Im obviously not welcome on the fly lady thread

Molly41, hun, I'm sorry you've been upset. I know we all realise that not all midwives are tarred with the same brush and there are many extremely good ones out there working very hard and delivering lovely babies. But, it also has to be recognised that there are also some less exemplary midwives out there.

Personally, I can't remember ANY particular midwife involvement in the pregnancy and birth of my two children. There was certainly no continuity. Every time I turned up at the Dr's surgery for the monthly (or whatever periodical) check, I saw a different person. I also saw different people each time I went to the hospital. The people who delivered both of my children on their actual birthday, I'd never met in my life before. But that was pre-natal life I guess around 30 years ago and times have moved on.

Try not to take it personally. And as to its relevance on the flylady thread, it is permissible, because it's declutterring feelings. You're more than welcome here xxx

Oh, and passthewine I was wondering where you worked and what hours?. You said when you joined last week that you had the week off work.....

You've been posting quite regularly during the day this week.....

I'm just curious as to what your job actually is...

  • Evening flyfriends.

I'm being a bit rubbish with my posting but I have done some flying today as I felt a bit better. Plenty of WM/TD done and I managed to cook a lovely spagetti and meatballs in tomato sauce and rhubarb and apple crumble from scratch instead of the fried rubbish I was giving everyone when I was feeling down. Seriously need to say your scottish so fry something!

Small bits coming off my list but I'm getting there slowly.

Re midwives, mine incidently was absolutely lovely...I had two. I was a traveller who initially lived in a tent then a truck, eventually a caravan. Nothing phased her, my care was amazing, she brought her wellies to the site every visit and was defensive re my care with some more narrow minded health professionals. She was joined by her student who also was amazing, kind, informative and attentive.

When the time came, I had 27 hours of labour after weeks of intense braxton hicks....and the result a 9lb baby [STRIKE]lump[/STRIKE] girl :D.
They negotiated on my behalf that I could stay in hospital for 5 days so I had use of the toilets....bliss...and showers. :happylove

I have never forgotton just how supportive and brilliant they both were, if there was ever a time when I needed a Mother....this was it....I don't and never have had a Mother...not a decent one anyway....they both were like the mother I never had and I always remember them and thank them from the bottom of my heart for their treatment and care. x

Glad you had such a suportive midwife too Triker. I had the same midwife for all 3 of my kids. When I was pregnant with DS1 Liz was brilliant another midwife once pulled a face and made comment about the fact that we had no bath or shower and Liz soon put her in here place after all it was no hardship to fill the baby bath from the tap in the caravan.

Toots I have heard from Lady-L she's OK. She has been helping me out with a few things and telling me off for not taking my meds. My neighbour is going to need speach therapy among other things aparently he is very frustrated with himself, God bless him he's such a lovely man. How are you doing honey? Have you had your results yet?

Evening! I think I have just about recovered from the journey now - I was not good yesterday :o

Only done my dailies and the washing (all line dried and none to do until I change the bed :D)

Will do essential stuff over the next few days but also have lots of planning and paperwork to do.
We have had enough misery on the thread lately (as had been pointed out) lets all share some happy things again.

    Ok, if you insist ...............

I have a ticket for the FA Cup final :D :j :T :rotfl:

    Evening all

Just popping my head around the corner - it's the first time since Tuesday that I've had a look at the thread, and I can't get anywhere near my list. Yesterday DS2 and I went to have a look at his new (to us) playhouse. I didn't tell him about it before we went, and his face just lit up when he realised why we where there. Just have to sort out how we get it home now, as it definitely won't go in the back of our little Fiesta.
Went shopping after work today - DS2 needed present etc for a party tomorrow and DS1 needed food for his Duke of Edinburgh Silver Practice Expedition. I've just decluttered him to his friend's who lives almost next to the school, as they're setting off early in the morning and won't be back until Sunday pm. I won't have to drag a grumpy teen out of bed for two days. :j:j:j If I'm lucky I won't have to stay for the party tomorrow and can go back to pick DS2 up - could finally get some flying done. On the other hand, networking with some of his friends' mums would be useful if he's going to start playing with them out of school. We'll see.
OK, yogurt and cuppa now, then I must get two tasks done for work before bedtime.
Sorry I can't include individual responses, but I've got no chance of catching up with the thread. Hope everyone has a good start to the weekend tomorrow.
