    Income approx £1300 total.

    Outgoings:
    C Tax £120
    Mortgage £850
    Insurances etc £100
Car costs (old banger) needed as school and wifes work £100
    Gas elec water £120

that leaves around £10 and food costs not included in above.

    All approx figures.

So options are sell house for a loss or see if help is avaiable.

Err i am asking because money is tight and if there is any extra help available, 'that we are entitled to'

Why do you think we have too much income? You dont know what little income we recieve along with my wifes job.

Whats with the attitude? Do you detest people who need financial help supporting their family?

your wife earns at least £175 per week you get around £90 week i/b,plus you get wtc, that equates to far more than the state says you need to live on,hence you wont get means tested benefits.
If you are struggling to pay your mortgage why not seek help from your lender instead of the state?they maybe able to let you convert the mortgage to interest only for a period

If what another poster quoted was that you took the mortgage after you were on benefits. Then this is a prime example of living beyond your means and expecting anyone but yourselves to cover the shortfall.

I am struggling to understand why you took out this mortgage two months ago?

Something does not add up here ...

Did you not take out mortgage payment protection?

I would ask your lender about going interest only for a while.
