First 3 years is not a loyal customer there days. Loyalty does not count for much though soend per month is the key.

Not sure what you mean with the dates though, the thread started with you due an upgrade in 5 weeks, so thats June time. If you upgrade in June then you won't be able to leave in August as the upgrade will be a new contract with a new minimum term.

If they don't class over 1 year as loyalty (on contract) and over around 6 years on PAYG, that's fine by me. I won't be 'loyal' either. I'll just go and get the best deal possible, where I can. Like I say, works both ways.

To be honest, I wasn't fully aware of the upgrade in effect 'renewing' my contract. Thus, I won't be upgrading. I will go for 'buy cheapy phone' option, then leave.

No worries, but as most people sign up for at least 18 or 24 months now so 1 year loyalty counts for nothing, and PAYG is not relevent at all. It's all about how much you spend each month.

Do what is best for you, I'm coming up on upgrade time. if they don't offer me a better deal than I can get elsewhere I'll leave. Your right, why should you be loyal when they don't care, new customers often get a better deal so why pay more than I have to.
Mind you that applies to many things (gas/ electricity/ savings accounts etc) new customers opften get better del so why be loyal anyway.

Remember you can port your number between providers so even thats no longer an issue.
