Advice needed on returning goods!

Hi All, first time on here.
Just need clarification on this: A DSI and a couple of games was brought on a visa card for a friends son at Christmas, unfortunately he passed away recently. My friend has given me the gifts back and i have no use for them. Can i return them at this point?? And by the way the visa card was not mine? Does this make a difference?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks

Have they been opened ? what was the site they were bought from ? some sites may only accept returns if they are faulty but it depends on the retailers t&c's, if they wont accept them then maybe ebay is an alternative, the person who ordered teh items should sort it out0

I don't think you'll have any luck returning them and have no legal grounds to insist upon it either.
Ebay or trade-in will likely be the only option you have.0 -
You have no legal grounds to. Where did you buy them from?0
-
Legally, no, you have no rights to return it (unless it's faulty).
No ask no get though, and some stores might give you a refund, or perhaps exchange it for something else.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Why not give them to a charity for them to raffle off? If your friend's son died of a particular ailment or something, give them to a related charity.0

I hope they get the police involved and give these traders a reet lesson in ethics, a week breaking stones on Dartmoor would not be amiss.
you really are an insensitive berk aren't you!!! Why don't you grow up.0 -
I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but am gonna say it anyway
I think this is a wind up, nobody in their right mind would
A) be at all bothered about getting money back for something so trivial when somone has died.
Think they could return a used (not faulty) gift never mind that it was bought in December when it's now April.
OK I'm ready to get an ear bashing...0 -

Whilst I sort of agree with your comments, I also agree with the sentiments of Freddie_snowbits.
Come on folks can anyone honestly say that they would expect a refund on a product which had been bought 4 months ago and is probably one that can't be returned unless faulty anyway? If the OP had purchased the item say within a fortnight and was used I would say ask but 4 months - that's pushing it.
I may be wrong (and if I am I apologise) and the OP is genuine but......................2014 Target;

Of course it's a wind-up. Do you know that the word gullible isn't actually in the Oxford English Dictionary?0
