New mobile - how do I activate my paid for T mobile credit?

They don't make it easy. Looking on their site hasn't helped me.

I got a new PAYG mobile last week and am using my old O2 sim and credit etc Ok so it appears unlocked.
But I had to buy £10 credit on T-Mobile with the phone but when I put the T Mobile sim in and check credit it says I have zero credit.

So how do I activate and use up my already paid for credit without ringing T Mobile on what seems to be an expensive premium rate line?

Surely if you use your T-Mobile sim then you can call customer service for free?

I tried that . I go through all the "press this number for etc" options, none which help , then get told I will get charged 25p a minute to actually speak to anyone further.
    Useless!

    Here's a freephone number for TMobile 0800 956 2208

    Also 0800 9565000

    From http://www.saynoto0870.com/

0800 is sales; select option 2 to be put through to normal customer services menu for free from a landline.
    Also: 0800 9562211 & 0800 9565001
