I presume that they are in the camp of the bigger the prize the more people enter rather than the more prizes people think they have a better chance of winning. I think that I would be more likely to enter a comp with a £20k value rather than for a digi camera. Just my own view.

Still not won anything yet :-(

Did you undergo some form of Pauline (Stevine?) revelation at Cupertino on the road to Redmond and buy a Mac as well? All that subliminal indoctrination by the illuminated Apple logos on The Gadget Show's laptops can gradually work its way into the most resolute of Microsoft stalwarts, eventually.

Haha, no. I'm a much tougher nut to crack than those clowns on The Gadget Show are capable of :p

    nomoreheroes,

I could understand you wanting to win £30,000 in cash (with which you could buy whatever of those gadgets you wanted) but why on earth would you want to win four laptops, five televisions, two hoovers and three tents? And where would you put them? The way it's run, whole thing is just a gross and cynical exploitation of mindless greed.

Easy. I have three children and a wife, thats the four laptops taken care of and the five televisions would replace the five ageing ones we have at the moment. One hoover upstairs, one downstairs to save my wife carrying one upstairs and the three tents to pitch in the garden for when the in-laws visit.

Don't forget you can enter this competition by sending a postcard at little cost to oneself and no financial gain to channel five.
  • I can't believe how sad some people are! It's a competition for gods sake! The idea being you enter and get a incredible prize if you win! Y is it a fake? Because you have not won??? I imagine there is loads of people who enter so the chances are slim but you have got to be in it to win it! So is every competition a scam? I think not! And it's a gadget show comp so the point is you win gadgets! Not the money! If you don't like it don't enter it! Don't moan about it! It's pathetic! I must admit it's been entertaining Reading though! Hahahahaha!

Of course people win the prizes, not actually awarding the prize would be very illegal and channel 5 would be shut down before you could blink!

They did show someone having their load of gadgets delivered, a decent sized living room was absolutely stuffed full to the top with boxes! I think most people would indeed just sell most of the stuff on ebay.

And yeah, I think the majority of it are demo models or stuff they'd had sent to them for free. Other than sponsored stuff like the iPhone where the '3 Network' gets a mention every week.
