  • Having a good month so far. Received a payment of £12.50 from my Quido account a few days ago and have made £210.50 from Ebay. I've got another 6 things listed for sale on Ebay, but so far only one item has any bids on it (£18.00), no watchers on my other items and all are due to end tomorrow evening.

I'm happy because at work we're all allowed to finish work at 3.00 pm tomorrow due to the Pope's visit. I think it will probably take about 2 hours though get through the huge crowds to get to the station.
  • Am feeling a bit upset today as yesterday we received a letter from the Pembertons Property Management company saying that they need to appoint a resident(s) to become a director, otherwise the company will be dissolved and leaseholders will be unable to sell their property.

I don't understand this but hope it works out OK for you.

  • Hi Katsu

I don't really understand what it means either. All I know is that I'm fed up and sick of this place and I just wish we could afford to sell this flat and buy a bigger place in a nicer area. When we first moved in three years ago most of the flats were privately owned. Since then most people have sold up and moved on and now most of the flats are owned by the council/housing association and since then the estate has completely gone downhill. Mattresses and other large items of furniture keep getting dumped onto the communal grass area, rubbish just left out instead of put into the bins, bikes, toys and prams just dumped in the communal hallway and outside on the grass area etc.
  • Oh dear, it's been ages since I updated this.

Unfortunately I haven't been overpaying on my mortgage as much as I had hoped. We've put our flat on the market and we've been trying to save up more money for a deposit/pay fees etc. Things are going slooooowly.......

Fortunately we did receive a goodwill payment from Halifax at the end of March of £2730 which was credited into our mortgage account. :j

Mortgage balance is currently - £111,692.48.

Well done. You are doing really well. Hope your flat gets sold soon. Will you have much of a deposit do you think?

  • Thanks.

I'm so glad we got that goodwill payment from Halifax! It has helped a lot.

We live in London so property prices here are scary. Our budget is £300k, so we'll need at least £60k for a deposit, which luckily we have got saved up in ISA accounts.

Flat sale is still going sloooowly. We had a couple who came round to view yesterday afternoon. DH was at home to show them around and said that they didn't seem very interested at all. This morning the agency called me and said that they were interested in our flat plus one other (they'd viewed 6 flats yesterday). They've viewing some more flats today and the agent will hopefully have an answer for us on Friday. We also have another viewer lined up for Saturday afternoon.

We did our weekly shop at Tesco last night and found some jars of Homepride pasta sauces (spicy tomato and pepperoni and tuna flavours) for 40p each so bought four jars of each! Bargain!
