Thank you. The restriction sign is much smaller than this with just an A4 piece of paper taped to it. Any way I can e mail the pictures to you to view ??0

The last pics you downloaded worked fine. Try again the same way.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

You can go ahead with the above appeal as the sign fits with what I've written. I'll amend it shortly (now done) to include the fact that the PCN fails to comply with what the law requires. You need to be aware that generally councils don't really care how valid your appeal points are. They tend to dig their heels in until a date with an adjudicator looms whereby they will then need to explain themselves. However, at this point many councils submit a no contest form and you win by default. Be prepared for the long game.0

Thanks for this, I thought that the sign was probably wrong. Can you just point out to me exactly why, so when I put a letter together I can be completely accurate.
Many thanks.0 -

Many thanks.
All of it is wrong. A sign is only lawful if it is prescribed and contained within the TSRGD 2002 or has been granted special authorisation by the Sec of State (DfT).

The sign used I very much doubt has authorisation (not seen a suspension one that has) and it certainly is not prescribed by the TSRGD 2002.

The letter above will suffice but as it is your appeal you must only submit an appeal that you feel happy and comfortable with. The one above is very long but I made it so purposely, council parking staff are not well trained and are either likely to be intimidated by the depth of knowledge and accept the appeal or ignore the points raised in their rejection letter. If they do the latter then this will strengthen the appeal as councils are obligated to demonstrate that proper consideration has been given to an appeal.0 -
Thank you for your reply. I just wanted to let you know that after looking on the net I discovered that the restriction sign is immediately unlawful as it is not attached to the parking sign plate which can be seen in my photo, but attached to the warning sign for the road ramps !
This makes it much easier for me to contest.
Thank you all so much for your help. I can stop being so stressed about the council trying to get away with my hard earned money ..:j0
