Does anyone know the best way to move everything on my hard drive to an external hard drive quickly so i can re-install windows?

careym - Use Windows Explorer to copy files from one drive to the other. If you copy everything under C:\Documents and Settings\ that will pick up all your documents, photos, music and emails, assuming you've put these in the normal places (My Documents, My Pictures etc.)

Where do i find windows explorer? I want to copy program files over if possible

Start - Programs - Accessories - W. Explorer.

Or quicker: hold the Windows key down (the key with the Microsoft 'flag') and press the E key.

No point copying program files over because they won't have the correct registry entries. Any programs will have to be reinstalled.
