Flipping Volcano!

I am starting to panic about the volcano! We are due to fly next Saturday (24th) to St Lucia to get married on the 29th.
OH just thinks it's not meant to be!
I know there are people who are in a lot worse situations, stuck abroad with no money etc...but it's supposed to be my wedding!
We booked our flights and accomodation seperate to save dosh, so I think we'd have to claim for the resort seperately...
Please stop spewing ash now mr volcano...its not funny!
The airlines will need a few days to get themselves organised and for stuff to get back to normal, which is why I am worried.
OH is Dutch and has missed a reunion/stag-do back home as the flight was cancelled but has taken it in good humour.
Thanks, just needed to vent! (pun intended)

Right now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before

I really hope everything calms down in time for your big day! My fingers are crossed for you.
You may need to prepare yourself for the worst with regards to your resort if this carries on. Many insurers are playing the "act of god" card and are not paying out.
For further guidance i would consult the good folks on the overseas travel board, there is a lot of help on there about the current situation.
Good luck

Wow fingers crossed it gets sorted for you. We are going to St Lucia for our honeymoon.0

I really do hope that this stops soon I'm due to go to new york on the 15th I know its a few weeks off but mother nature doesn't care lol.
I'm having a totally poo day. It's the derby today (football) OH doesn't have sky so has gone round his mums to watch it. I'm not welcome so I'm at his house on my own I'm dead upset about it. I did ask him what his mum had to say about the row with me and his sister and he said nothing but it's obvious that I'm not welcome.
Corrie isn't too bad though
I hope everything clears up by the time your going.

I too hope it clears soon. A word of warning though your wedding or travel insurance are unlikely to pay out because this is an act of god. I have already heard of claims being refused.0

Yes, there are a few horror stories about already.
People whos flights are covered by the EU airlines rules but who have booked their accomodation separately and that isnt covered by their insurance because its an act of god. It must be very upsetting.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -

I'm worried about our honeymoon too. We get hitched in 6 days, and are due to fly out a week on Tuesday. I'm hoping for the best.0

CG19a I would hope that it's all sorted by then... then again I thought there was no chance of it effecting me and as each day goes by I'm more worried! My sister works for a company which books the tickets for a lot of tour operators on behalf of BA, and she told me that they aren't looking to put extra flights on, just to re-book on to flights with availibilty, which means some people will be stranded for longer, but flights will get back on schedule quicker iyswim? So if the all clear is given your flight would go as normal, any spaces filled by people waiting.
She told me of a group of 50 stuck in Israel who they had to spilit coming back in to two groups on 23rd and 25th April as that was the next availible flight with capacity.
Oh well camping in Cornwall is looking good...Right now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before0
