OK, advice noted! I will call to cancel!
Yes, did try to sell loan through Barclays.
I will look into small local firms.
I will spead the word to friends and colleagues NOT to use them!
Hi there, how did you get on with cancelling? I had recently had not a pleasant experience (to say the least) with Anglia 1st home improvements. Cancelled the contract on the same day and could not get my deposit out of them. Was about to take them to court and just then they finally sent a cheque - with 2 spelling mistakes in my name! BY miracle i got it from the bank. Hope you've had a better luck.
Beware of Anglia 1st!0 -
Given the fairly hefty cost - over £1,000 a unit in some extreme cases - it can be tempting to go for the cheap UPVC option. But be warned, not only is it less effective at keeping in heat it can also be an eyesore that actually cuts your home's value.
Cut costs by shopping around rather than downgrading. Many buyers consider double glazing essential so it could prove a vital addition when it comes time to sell.
And because you'll need less energy to keep your home toasty in the winter, you'll save on your bills and cut your carbon footprint too.
This is a quote taken from MSN MONEY. I know from having anglia first products that the window they use is A rated and worth its weight in gold. I have noticed a great difference in my heating billssince they were installed a year ago. Dont always presume that the cheaper you can get something the better.0 -

Prey, tell: How long have you worked for Anglian? Strange how Anglian have their Head Office in Norwich, which is the same as your location. No doubt you are posting from the very same office!!Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -

Just had windows installed by Anglia First Home Improvments not Anglian Home Improvements.
Two words: QUALITY PROFESSIONALS. From the quote to the fitting and aftercare, we are absolutely delighted with our new windows and congratulate ourselves with our decision to buy our windows from Anglia First Home Improvements Ltd.
No- nonsense initial measure up and quote, with no high price start and then discounts included to reduce the price, we were given the best price which saved lots of time. The surveyor who explained in more detail the work involved and exactly how the finished product would look. The fitters were excellent, very polite, efficient, professional and clean. They arrived, worked all day, without stopping for lunch, and left at the end of the day leaving everywhere tidy.
We were kept informed at all times of the schedule, by telephone, and had a contact number if required. Everyone involved with our windows are a credit to Anglia First and the trade.
The finished result is amazing and has made an enormous difference to the house, not only in the appearance but to the heating costs and the warmth we are benefiting from.
The quality of the windows is there to see and we would definitely recommend Anglia First to anyone and everyone thinking of replacing their Windows.
When we require more work we will return to them without fail!!
If you had typed something like:
"Just stumbled across this thread and we had Anglia First fit windows at my house and we were really pleased and have had no problems so far"
it would have been believable. Instead you type some some kind of textbook !!!!!! so obviously written by the company. :T0 -

Gosh, all these first time posters who in a very short space of time seem to have stumbled across this thread just in order to praise a specific company. What a small world!!0

Hi
I have also just been subject to the high pressure selling tactics of Anglia 1st - I made the mistake of signing up but am now thinking twice. I checked on bizzy.co.uk and they said that the company has good credit worthiness. Should I cancel?0
