As for which version of Windows 7 I have I have absolutely no idea. All I know is that it's Windows Home Premium. Does that help.
it should tell you if you click start > right click computer > properties. look for something along the lines of 32bit operating system or 64bit operating system.0 -
I have good news (kind of)
The original problem has been solved. I went to the Carphone Warehouse and the person working there phone T-Mobile and they looked into my account.
The white Huawei E220 is a very old dongle and apparently no downloads, discs or anything will work.
You have to buy a new dongle. It has cost me £18 for a new dongle its a USB Stick 120.
You uninstall the original connection manager and put your old sim card into the new dongle and install in from there and it'll work.
The other benefit is if you go over your monthly allowance the dongle comes with £10 credit so you can use that so really the dongle has cost £8.
Donnie and everyone else, thank you for your help.
I am officially back online :-)0 -

The original problem has been solved....
Actually this isn't true at all.
The E220 may be an old modem, but the firmware posted for it is from this year. In fact the firmware upgrade brings it past the specification of the ZTE MF626(T-Mobile 120), (which incidentally is also an old USB modem) as it would be capable of up to 7.2MB download speeds where available.
Of course T-Mobile would not suggest that you upgrade the firmware with anything other than their branded derivative.
If you bought the modem direct from T-Mobile, you could have received a £10 rebate from Quidco or TopCashBack. So the final price would have been £8.99 with the £10 credit.0
