For the period April 6th 2009 - 31st Dec 2009.
148 DRO 's declined with ....
124 exceeded 15k debts not included in application.
7 exceeded 15k within the application.
So, what do we make of that lot then ???

Hiya,
I'm probably going for a DRO next month, when I see the CAB.
My debts all come to around £9k (all unsecured CC / catalogues / mobile / electric arrears / water arrears etc)
So, I *think* I'll be eligible.
However, if I also have about £12k of student loans outstanding (on top of the above debts), does that mean I won't be allowed a DRO?
Also, I have about (included in the £9k of debt) £2k of Housing Benefit overpayments / £400 of Council Tax arrears. Am I correct in thinking that I won't be allowed to include the HB overpayment, but will, with the Council Tax debt?
Many Thanks.0 -

Thank You for the info.
That is gutting to find out!
So, even though the Student Loans aren't written off in the DRO, they do count towards the £15k limit?
Are you 100% on this?
If this is the case then, I can't for a DRO no?
Cheers :-(0 -
I'm now panicking over mine submitted yesterday. I upped my overdraft at the bank about a month ago to help with moving costs from £100 to £500 (we had rats, no heating and a baby due in 6 weeks so time was of the essence), and was hoping the deposit would have been returned by now (our contract ended on April 8th and now the LL are saying windows and carpets weren't cleaned, so I've had to submit receipts etc...). The CAB submitted my DRO yesterday and I'm now pacnicking that it might fall under the banner of "1 obtaining credit with no reasonable prospect of repayment." and I've just wasted £90 as well as my only chance to clear this mess up.........0

My student loan was included in the total but then disregarded for being included in the DRO as its a different kind of loan that can't be written off.0

Benefit overpayments can be reclaimed from current benefit awards until the end of the moratorium period (12 months) after which the balance is written off. Council tax arrears would be full included.
Student loans are an EXCLUDED debt and do NOT form part of the 15k limit.
