It tends to be the airline that doesn't pay up for these issues, whereas the point of additional insurance usually do...

I was caught up at the time of some of the hijacking attempts and insurance paid out...

I agree with the general sentiment - it's sad that your service falls short, but it's hardly fair to be "mad" at RM for it.

if you look over the boards you will see (at this point) many are not covered by their insurance for the ash groundings

the planes are grounded, how can RM foresee/prevent this?

They can't. But then maybe they should never "guarantee" any of their services.
You do have rights......but you still need common sense.

as opposed to regarding a whole company as cr4p
believe me you are sitting on the wrong pedestal to offer that critique

My experience of RM has not been good on more than one occasion. Eg. when i arranged a redirection, the postie at the sorting office decided he couldn't be bothered to redirect so just delivered to my old address. To say the response from Customer Service was unhelpful is an understatement.

Yes, I have used RM on many occasions with no problem. However, I have found that whenever there is a problem, there is very little help from them. Hence the reason I use this as my basis for opinion.

Perhaps you were one of the good ones.
