Flight check-in indecision

Abroad. Ryanair flight back booked for next Tuesday. Reminder online check-in arrived before this crisis. No further messages received.
First thought - wait see what happens to avoid inconvenience and wasting time in airport. At pinch day delay or even 2 not ideal but not disastrous.
Second thought, confirm now. What are they going to do with backlog of passengers if not give them the seats of the ones not yet checked in?
That must be it. Will decide this afternoon.
What does anyone think?

As long as you checkin online before their limit then they can't give your seat to someone else.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

is the limit 40 minutes before departure? i.e. when the gate closes? as we will have this problem, we're yet to check in for our ba flight tomorrow evening. Obviously if the flight goes we don't expect to be bumped off just because we checked in once we got to the airport. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0

Do they say that somewhere? Does anyone say it?
Seeing as "can't" is not in the Ryanair boss's vocabulary. Except even he can't fly through a volcano, so you say rights of passengers booked for a flight trump those of passengers booked for earlier flights?
Sorry for then too of course I wonder when they'll ever get home in that case, I'll think about them when I have.Sorry my posts so long - not time write shorter ones.0 -

I can't find it for BA except that we need to be checked in 40 minutes before our flight.
Thus I expect to fly tomorrow, volcanic ash aside.
However, during the snow fiasco, I spent a long hour whilst waiting for someone to 'volunteer' to leave the overbooked flight, whilst waiting at the gate -it was akin to the moment we were asking in year 3 who had broken all the crayons and knowone was moving until someone admited to it.If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
Ryanair do have a no overbooking policy so theoretically you should be ok but I wouldn't want to speculate whether they stick strictly to that in these circumstances.
I would personally check in as I can't see it would cause any real extra convenience? I have a flight on Tuesday and plan to check in for it today!0
