Since the upgrade in security can anyone carry electronics through customs or do they have to go in the hold.
I don't fancy putting something brand new in an unlocked case.

Basically, no elecronic equipment is allowed on the plane and has to be checked in.

You don't have to leave cases unlocked. There is a special combination lock that you can buy that can be opened with a master key by airport security if they want to inspect the contents.

In a previous message I mentioned a special lock for suitcases that allows passengers to secure their case but also allows airport security to open it without damaging the lock or the suitcase.

You can see what I am referring to on the following site. I have been using these locks for about 3 years without any problems. just click on 'special offers' on the left of the page when you go to the site. They are £5.50 each.

    www.travelwithcare.com

I am sure they are also available from any shop selling locks.

Any views as to whether it'll be worthwhile pre-ordering the new Sony PS3 (Blu-Ray) due to launch on Nov 17? It's rumoured it'll be priced around £320 in the US and £450 here.

More to point, is anyone taking pre-orders yet?

Going back to travel locks I use searchalert locks as they can be opened and locks by officials, but indicate when opened.
See http://www.outdooraccessories.co.uk/index.htm?url=products/pacsafe/padlocks.htm price 7.50 inc delivery.

Or depending how many you require go direct to the makers (like I did).
    http://www.tamperseal.com/product_info.php?products_id=35&osCsid=11d8f03a4a86f3695407fcc50b46f9e5
With a $9.50 shipping charge on order up to $36
So if you buy 3 they work out at £6.50 each delivered.

You can always tell when your case has been opened as they are obliged to put a form in the case advising you. It explains your rights should you think anything has been removed or damaged.

Not if its been opened unofficially, eg: by a member of staff who is not supposed to have the TSA keys (not like that would ever happen).

for any ladies who use bare escentuals make up - it is SOOooo much cheaper in the states. just check out the sephora website:

    https://www.sephora.com (US site)

also worth buying - any american make up brand - kiehls, estee lauder, clinique - products can be as low as almost half price
Not buying clothes for a year - it's liberating!
