Still catching up on your challenge and I will post more later but when I got my flat (niave 23 year old) my loan was 5.39 x my income
It currently stands at 4.12 x my income but I also overpay a bit each month.Mortgage: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £91830 [/STRIKE][STRIKE] Jan 12 - £89'199[/STRIKE] May 14 - £69'999 Car Loan: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £3658 [/STRIKE] July 12 - £0! Well I'm not sure what formula the chelsea use for their lending criteria, but dh earns £41,024 and they said they will go up to £77K!
He did apologise and say there are plenty of other banks that would lend £100K more than that! Bizarre.
Today , I have not managed to resist the sewing basket any longer, I found it now reduced from £40 to £20, on john lewis website so I've ordered it and will collect for free later in the week. I needed cheering up , and its a lot cheaper than a new house.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
It does seem odd they have such different lending criteria, usually your existing lender will lend you more.
I think you deserve the sewing basket as a treat. You resisted for long enough!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Well done on reaching payout!
The sewing baskets are just gorgeous. I haven't got one but I've got one of her pincushions. Adorable.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
DS1 has gone for his new school open day today,I had 5 other kids plus mums knocking at mine to be walked by dd first thing.
She is a good girl taking that lot to school!
One of the mum's said to her son, oh walk back here tonight and I'll get you from here, so i said sorry they are going to my mum's, which was sort of true she had asked us round, I just feel a bit overwhelmed at the moment by the amount of kids we have in and out, and to be honest i want to start being tougher, I would never have assumed mine could go back to someone else's house without being asked.
God that sounds really harsh! Its a very small minority of parents who can be that way inclined, but she only had one child, it makes a difference when you have 3x the friends to deal with.
To other people I must look like I have nothing better to do, as I don't have a proper job working from home for dh, life is very chaotic at the moment, they have so many school things as its the end of term coming, plus lots of birthdays , parties (all 3 of mine in a few weeks time) AArgh!
Tonight we have another school welcome meeting which I may go alone to as dh is so busy at work, today I am completing the ironing and any time left I will do a few hours for dh.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I think it's wrong of other parents to assume that their children can go to someone elses house without checking first. Well done you for saying no. It could easily have become a daily occurence!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Not mean at all. In fact, you did more than enough having them all this morning.0

It's the new tough me!
There are'nt enough hours in the day sometimes, I have not been seeing my gran as much as well lately, which has not gone un-noticed,I still see her once a week, plus my mum sees her nearly every day, but i think she has taken offence.
There is so much to do at the moment, with the house and kids etc, I would like to make some time to do more Mse stuff, like sewing , cooking , gardening etc. Sometimes it's good to be a little selfish.:D
Lots of ironing done today, but its getting hot again, so I'm having a cuppa.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
You did right saying that to the mother. You don't want to be walked all over.
Don't worry , I'm sure the novelty of everyone knocking on your door will wear off shortly..plus it's the 6 week holidays soon.6 weeks free of it all!
P.s I felt kinda jealous ( in a nice way ) about your CK sewing basket so we went to JL to look at garden furniture and I was going to get one ...luckily they had no stock in! lolI can't be bothered updating this anymore0
