Wow I’ve not popped in for ages, this tends to happen when I’ve been bad and gone on a spending spree 😆

So the spending I have been doing is:

£569 pp on a 4 night cruise this August 😱

    £331 on the dentist - I can’t say when I last went as it’s over 10 years!

    £150 odd on summer clothes

Plus I’m about to spend on hot tub repairs if I can ever get anyone to reply to my messages and visit, as well as possibly a new phone as I dropped dds in the hot tub 🤦🏼‍♀️ Hers is old and the same as mine ( my parents cast offs) so I’ll get a new one and give her mine if hers is no good, currently it’s working but getting very hot, fingers crossed as I try to never spend on phones!

The cruise may seem bonkers to most I’m sure, especially this year and as it’s not stopping anywhere 😂 In my defence it’s our 25th anniversary the day before we go and after a lot of looking, I couldn’t find anything I liked mid August cheaper, centreparcs was fully booked at every location, even caravans were  very dear due to the kids being off.
So it’s on a cruiseline we have not been on before and includes tips, drinks package and WiFi as well as the usual food and entertainment, plus we have a balcony, so it should be relaxing even if we end up eating and sitting on the balcony watching the sea go by!
I might book one night in a hotel the night before as it’s our actual anniversary and will stretch out the break a bit longer. I’m pretty excited and not too worried as it’s uk residents and double vaccinated guests only, plus testing before getting onboard.

So all in all a vast bit of spending going on here, and to top it all it’s the Emma bridgewater summer sale starting tomorrow 😬 once this blip is over it’s back to being ultra sensible until we have paid his mortgage off - hopefully by dec 2024!

    Thanks mfd’s 😬

Oh dear, more spending is required! I arrived at the cinema to a call from a shrieking dd, we have had a huge leak, well more of an actual flood I would say from under the shower and into the hall and living room. Nobody was there and the water has been off due to repairs up the road all day, it was literally flowing out the front door when I arrived home 😱 The water had been turned on again a few times so I think perhaps it was some kind of surge combined with our thin pipes due to the macerator.

We still have no water, dh managed to get someone round they have made a huge hole in the ceiling under the shower but as the water is off they can’t find the source, hopefully they will be back tomorrow. The electrics are now blowing quite a bit so dh is currently trying to isolate the wet bits!

After being stood under a tsunami of dirty water I really needed a shower, my little brother who is house sitting at our parents declined to allow this as he has five friends over for a bbq (one being ds1!) so thus rule breaking 🤦🏼‍♀️So we drove over to the kids partners’ dads house and used his instead.
For some reason there are no stand pipes out and its off all night they said and has been off almost since first thing today. Not a great day!

Not sure about your little brother - surely bbq-ers were outside?! Couldn’t DS1 have hung around on the street for 20 mins for you?!

Sounds horrendous - hope you get it sorted soon. Do they put standpipes in these days or just expect you to get/give out bottled water? (So unenvironmentally friendly!)

We had a stand pipe last time Vix, this time I got 2 bottles of water which tasted funny 😆

Well we have no hall ceiling left really, they can’t find the leak, the only possibly cause we can think of is there was a power cut before the leak, Ds2’s girlfriend used the loo and the button got caught which causes water to keep running slowly, but with the macerator with no power it can’t clear the water and it’s backed up in the shower and held in the ceiling underneath.

Either way we will leave the ceiling off to dry out and see if it happens again, I’ve not even called the insurance yet as the builder next door at work send someone within half an hour, i, not sure it will be worth the bother of we are replacing a bit of ceiling.

I’m dreading doing the finances, I’ve been very much taking a break from being a mfw for the last month!
