Funny you should say that greent, I’ve flipped to own brand again this week which is what we would normally have, we have been getting through loads of Pepsi max too lately! Another day down is a good way of looking at things too 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁8

What's that I'm always reading on here - it's a marathon, not a sprint 😂!!!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!6 -
The issue is we have no idea where the finish line is!We’re spending more on food too - normally meat (DH) and fish (me) are things we mainly have out, so we’re definitely buying more of that. And booze/soft drinks. But it’s all offset by nothing being spent on anything else! So it’s probably still less than normal spending by quite some margin (although in your case NG, you’re paying for it all instead of it coming out of personal spend!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

A very slow plod greent 😁
Vix I expected us to have fairly big savings staying in but it’s been the opposite, the kids are saving a fortune though I’m sure! What will you do with the extra money you have saved?MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
Well it will depend on my income starting relatively stable, so no OPs for a while, but it’ll go to the mortgage of course! And if we can get away somewhere, however briefly, this year, we’ll put some towards that I imagine.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ho hum...
I expected to have loads of money this month, too - but most definitely not!!! (Which is a shame, as both DH's and my car insurances are due 1st May, so it would have been nice to pay for those with 'spare' money (mine's around £1k, due to having both of the students as named drivers on there...)

☹️ Have you postponed greent? It was such a lovely gift you still need to do it!Beautiful day here this morning, I might even go out for my third walk of lockdown ☀️ Bit worried about Ds1 who is quite down and shut away in his room, will try and get him out a bit today, dh was hoping the boys would teach him to play poker, so maybe that will help.
£3.06 op made from topcashback to the home mortgage yesterday and £10 today, I’ve overspent on the cc grocery and petrol budget allowance for April already 😱 however looking at the current account we have about £100 left (after the £10 op) normally no problem as we have loads of food for meals, but we have a click and collect on Saturday and we don’t know when we will get another one so I’m inclined to use it, I’ll be getting bits for others too anyway....Don’t know if we will get paid on time his month and they have not payed march’s rent yet 😱 the factory mortgage can’t be paid without it for long! Ironically their other business is booming in lockdown 😏
Birthday present bought for Dds boyfriends dd, they have bought her a Harry Potter pandora bracelet so I’ve got her a slytherin charm for it 😁 plus a personalised HP card from moonpig which was free bar the postage as I had stamps saved up 👍 Hopefully later in the year I will get to use my voucher for the studio tour and may take her and dd along too, it would be nice to have something to look forward to again!Still waiting for a refund of the cruise, looking in cruise forums for any updates from other people, they are refunding from early March currently , we were end of may so we have a while to wait I guess. When that arrives I think we will put it into premium bonds, that’s where out £100 monthly savings as of this year goes to pay for holidays, not a massive budget but it goes a good way to paying for a cheap cruise with maybe tops ups from birthday or Xmas money to help with spending money. If we need to borrow it back we can as we won’t be going away for quite some time.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
We will still go, ng - just no idea when - this Easter worked well, as both DD and DS1 home to look after DS2 & DS3 - next Easter DS1 should have a volunteering placement (fingers crossed)nad DD should theoretically be working so may not even be here. AH well, we'll get there eventually!
We're also looking to go back to the HP Studio Tour at some point - again, not sure when!
That's not good that the factory rent hasn't been paid - have they said why or when they expect to pay it? Do you have a clause in your lease with them that you can charge interest on late payments? (pretty standard to do so)
I'm trying to avoid supermarket now as long as possible - we have lots of food and a crazy amount of chocolate here! Milk should see us through to Sunday, I think (maybe Mon if I get certain people eating toast for breakfast!) so don't want to go before then- and not sure I can afford to! (where's the shrieking emoji?!)
I taught myself poker pretty much - if DH ahs a vague idea he could down load an app and play the 'computer' (not a for-money one) to get an idea - although I still like a print out of the winning combos and what order they come in close by! DS2 (14) is desperate to play - apparently they play it at school in the board games (inc cards) lunchtime club!
xx
