Mine is a solitary journey too, you are not alone. Mr AJM loves seeing the balance come down and likes the idea of working because we want to in 10-15 years but doesn't want to change anything along the way, then he gets miffed when I don't tell him I am OP'ing! If I can stick to my plan we will be MF in 10 years and I an do the next 2 years without his input which gives me time to work on him!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

No I would say he doesn't most of he time, but is mid sixties still getting up at 5am to work as there is not enough time in the day to get it all done and it is very stressful work some of the time. I think as skint spice says its more about options or being able to delegate/employ someone else to do the cr*ppy stuff.
Your oh sounds like mine aj, they want to see the balance go down but don't want it to take over and "still need a life". The irony is though we have done far more as a family in the last 3 and a bit years since joining mse than all the spendthrift years before , we just buy less "stuff".
I am on a roll today :
Changed gas & elec to ovo , £249 cheaper per year than eon And £25 topcashback.
Rang sky to threaten cancelling (so they give me another £5 a month deal) and no trying to keep me he just said ok you're cancelled now  I am in shock , I love my skythe kids have no taken it well although ds2 still does not know. It is 30 days notice so I will give it a think over for the next few weeks, I like the look of the now tv box as you can pay £5 pm for the sky channels we like (fox/sky1/Atlantic) but you can't use it with a recorder which I also really want. Decisions eh! May have to try the now tv box, it's only £9.99 to buy outright, does anyone here have one by any chance?

Hi nto hope you had a good Xmas , its mr money mustache (american spelling) very embarrassing but can you google it as I am not sure how to link (GG did explain once but that was a long while ago:o)
links are easy. On the advanced reply page, you type the text you want people to click on, highlight it, select the globe symbol with the handcuffs, enter the web site address and click OK. Job's a good 'unknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
The last couple of times I have asked for it to be cancelled, Sky have got in touch with me a day or two before it is due to finish and offered me some great deals, you just have to hold your nerve!!0

Thanks pavlovs, will have a go
Hi bag puss thanks for popping in, I am hoping for them to call and try and win me back
I have worked the the finances out wrong, the other day I worked out that there would be £1099 left to live in, however that figure should have been £814 , I divided the cc repayments by the wrong amount of months -doh! Of course it was too good to be true :rotfl:
Plans for today are do all washing , vacuum, clean bathrooms, take ds2 to town to get his broken Xbox game hopefully fixed and go to the 99p store. Later on this afternoon we are going to see dh's family who have come to visit, and then later possibly going to the pub a few doors up, they have a Michael buble tribute singer and its free to get in - all depends if dh has a spare few pounds for drinksMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
*holds her hand up* I'm kind of in the same boat with my OH and the saving/spending. It's all getting through to him.. slowly..... slowly. It's probably a good thing he wants to have a life though, otherwise our hatches would have been well and truly battened right now. :rotfl:
We have Now TV... it's absolutely great if you're just after movies (Mr M got it on a deal for Christmas, so not sure if we'll keep it on after that as we do have Netflix too), I've not really used it to pay for other channels, but surely it should work as you can just watch what you want when you want (ie. you don't really need the record facility then?) It might be worth giving it a whirl and see if it suits you - and if it doesn't you can sign up again for Sky on some sort of insane deal?
I love recording stuff on Sky but then there is so much trash on there I'm paying for and don't watch... but if you can get everything you want on Now TV then you're quids in? Can't believe they didn't try to keep you though!
Oh, and I love Mr Money Mustache! ....but I'd forgotten about him, oops, so thanks for the reminderBy the way, I'm loving Froog's blog (it's my current bedtime reading), have so many recipes lined up I want to try now
& thanks pavlov for those links & tips
PS. LGP, thanks for the heads up on Ballycastle!

Thanks calfuray, will have another go when I've woken up a bit
Hi pearla, I might give now tv a go then as you can pay extra for the entertainment channels £4.99 on I think which is all we need most of the time, do you know of it can be used with a seperate digital recorder or if they can both be wired into the tv ? It would be nice to still be able to record stuff as I don't often watch things at the time they start , it will be early morning or late nights sometimes if its a busy week.
Last night was ok, a meal with the inlaws , but we went back the mil's for coffee so didn't get to the pub to see the Michael buble lookeelikeedd didn't get dropped off from her party until just gone 1.30 though so had to wait up for her and am now feeling like a zombie. The dog escaped the kitchen while we were out and has been scratching at the leather sofa, and ate a (small ) bag of lindor chocolate, she is fine but I am still not speaking to her, not sure if I'm more upset with the damaged sofa or the missing chocolate.
Lazy day today , just conserving energy until its time to watch sherlock :jMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
