Oops lost a long post :(

I have been busy today, I bought a mould to make a chocolate house form Lakeland a while ago and thought I'd give it a trial run today. It took 12 bars of (value!) chocolate and quite a bit of red icing to create "the house that dripped blood". my friend is having a Halloween house warming party so I am going to make her something spooky and spectacular :D

I went to mr t last night and bought the chocolate and some ingredients to make a Xmas cake tomorrow, however my usual recipe calls for rum and obviously trying to be mse I didn't want to buy a bottle of that so used the last of dh's honey jack Daniels he got for his birthday :o I have put the fruit in to soak and it smells divine, I am Hoping he forgets there was a bit left in the bottle :D

Up to early again as dh noisily went to work at 5 am, on the plus side the ironing is nearly finished :)

I checked the accts this morning to and had a look at the cc balances (which are not going down to fast at the moment ) and realised that i'd forgotten to budget for our Disneyland trip when working out the cc repayment plan for next year.:( so there is no way we will be cc debt free by the end of next year, it will take until may 2015. then after snowballing the payments to the loan, debt free in nov 2015. Its still not too bad if I can stick to it!

Starting from Jan (when I will have a proper wage) I am going to budget £800 for everything, food/entertainment/petrol/clothes/xmas/birthdays, literally everything. Its a lot more than the usual budget, but i'm not sure how well I stick to that sometimes anyway :D

Off to stick some clothes on so I can go out and buy butter, I need to get that xmas cake in the oven so it finishes before we go out for lunch.

Xmas cake has just finished cooking and the house smells georgeous now, but its making me feel hungry :D
I'm staying in today to paint the new bathroom as there are no workmen here until later in the week when they fit the bathroom suite and shower.
I overspent in aldi a bit at the weekend so need a couple of nsd's to catch up, luckily I have been given a plated roast dinner for dh tonight , plus a tub of leftover curry and some leftover chicken and lamb, all from my parents yesterday :T

I'm not working for dh today as I have a plumber coming to fit the shower tray, I need to let him in at 11am, its a bit annoying but at least I had not already made a packed lunch up before I got the text.

I have ordered a couple of winter jumpers online from the "everthing £5 " website, fingers crossed they are ok, they had a few that looked quite nice and chunky jumpers in a normal high st shop are so expensive usually. Plus I have ordered a blood splattered wedding dress from fleabay to wear to my friends party, I need to have few nsd's to cover the cost (again:o) but its so cold the jumpers were an essential if I want to keep the heating off all day.

At a loose end now, so perhaps a dog walk and some cooking/baking from the store cupboards as I have spent the daily budget in clothes :D

Argh , I have a broken bath  part of the suite that was delivered smashed 3 weeks ago, I did check the bath but missed the damaged bit as it was hard to see. The company have refused to replace it as they damage could have been done by me , even though everything on the pallet was also smashed at the time!

They have however offered to let me buy a new one off them , which I declined of course. Now dh has had to go out to get a new bath after work and the plumbers are booked up for the next week or so so it won't be fitted until they can get back, holding everything up.

I ran the cc company I paid with and as its part of a set , I have to send the whole thing back (packaging for other stuff already gone) and wait a few weeks for a decision, so no money back through them either as its just too much aggro.

    I hate online bathrooms :p

  • Nor sure they can refuse if it is damaged? Even if it isn't, you can change your mind as I would have thought it was covered under the distance selling regulations?

Hi southerndave, as its from Manchester and was only cheap I doubt its worth sending back to them. I have posted a couple of unfavourable reviews which made me feel a bit better!

Last night dh came home early as we had to buy another bath, and we went to mr t after, dh said he would would buy some food from his money as we don't have much in ( we have plenty for meals btw just not junk ;)) anyway, very kind of him but very stressful for me... Everything is dearer in there than aldi that I normally buy. So queue lots of "no thanks its double the price" that after the first few aisles , he got rather fed up with me. So half the trolley was yellow sticker reduced fruit and veg, the other half was fancy cheese, chocolate tarts etc. :rotfl: he managed to spend quite a lot without actually getting much for meals , I could not do that every week we would be broke :D

I was hoping for a Nsd today but have just tipped the scaffolders for sorting the sky dish out for me as it had been moved, took a while and was not really their job so gave them £10.

Hi tootoo it was not bad at £75 but today we found out the new bath has the wrong legs, luckily he has taken the legs off the broken bath and it should be ok.

I have had a bit of a clean up today, mainly the kitchen and hallway so still lots to do, but it looks more like a house than a building yard now. The twins were off today so instead of the Nsd I should have had , I gave them £5 each towards bowling and lunch with friends and gave ds1 £5 to top up my oyster as he has lost his, it was either that or have them at home all day so I paid up! Ds1 will be paying for his replacement card though, it may help him to be more careful in the future.

Batch cooking done of 3x spag Bol with lots of added veg & 2 chilli with veg in dh sized large portions. I am trying to get him to eat better, as the only proper food he has is dinner at night and that's often not as healthy as it could be. So lots of very tiny pieces of peppers and celery hidden :D

Not much mf stuff going on at the moment, just trying to stick to not spending, which is going ok really, the heating has been on twice this week for about 45 mins first thing as the kids all shower before school and I didn't want them to ice over on the really cold days, other than that its sweatshirts and blankets downstairs. Only problem is visiting other people's houses (my parents !) who have the heating at 27 degrees which comes as a bit of a shock to the system, I think my body is getting used to a lower temperature :D
