Well done finding a cheaper birthday activity and if it includes food and drink that's great. I like that kind of creativity.

DD had a great birthday, just family for cake followed by pizza takeout in the evening. She has a friends meal tomorrow and we are going to thorpe park on saturday.

I think its time to have a look on my favourite op calculator, its a fab on where you can have regular and one off op's at the same time (its on pay 16 of the "mortgage op calculator"thread at the top of this board, well worth a look if you have not seen it before.

The paperwork for changing the mortgage from IO back to repayment was never sent as we had some issues with dh's work buyout. Its all still not sorted out , but we are getting closer to it all being finalised, hopefully in the next few months. I just did'nt want to commit to a payment of £1000k a month when there is so much uncertainty, its better to wait I think until everything is definate, as I would imagine its much harder to switch from repayment to IO than the other way round if you have to for a while.

Scary! I have been the op calculator and we currently officialy have 9 yrs 8 mths left on the mortgage from sept this year (august money going to the 0%cc) which the payment will be £1488.18 pm, that is the full amount available after essentials for the mortgage, eek its close to the bone.

I was planing clearing the cc in full first , but if I did it would have to knock another month off the term by upping the monthly payment to £1499 which is more than we have.

There is currently £1699 left on the cc, I should be able to pay £1083 off in august and the remainder I will pay from the xmas money which is an extra cash week at the end of the year (dh gets paid weekly) I should be under £100 short from clearing it this year then which is close enough!

Christmas now has to be paid for from extra earnings and some may be homemade, which should be interesting.:D I already have quite a few presents bought in the sales, but nothing for my kids yet who are the biggest expense, I'll probably try and do sock monkeys / homemade chocs/ any other things I can think of to fill up stockings and still get them a main present that they are after as well.

Apologies for mentioning the "c" word this early in the year!

No money made still or surveys done, instead I have been to asda living with a friend and bought some new pj's for myself, they are a little on the small side but I really need to lose weight in the next few weeks. Dh's 40th is in sept and there are a few people we have not seen for years going, and I am about 2 stone heavier now. :( I just don't seem to be able to get started even with the weight loss, let alone stick with it.

Its thorpe park tomorrow, I am going to get dd and her two friends burgers there, but do the rest of us a picnic. I can't believe there is only one week of school left it feels really odd, especially with such awful weather at the moment. Where has the summer gone?

    Hope everyone is well.:D

Up too early again, 5am on a saturday. Thorpe park in the rain today, I might manage the teacup ride but thats about it, Im too much of a scaredy cat :D

I have been catching up on a few diaries which has been making me feel a bit useless at the moment. The only thing I am managing to do is not spend much at the moment day to day. The earning has gone out the window, I think to give myself a daily nudge i will make sure that everytime I update my diary I will put a list at the end of the page of everything towards being mse that I have done, big or small - like michelles small things thread. It might give me a push to do better.

    So starting today:
    • washing on airers first thing
    • pre-booked the tickets for the park 50% discount
I will try and update at the end of every day with more.:D

    I was up at 5 as well:eek:

dont be so hard on yourself, you are doing so much more than you think.Just think of the position you would be in if you hadnt made the changes you have.

Not raining here and it takes about 35 mins to get to Thorpe so fingers crossed.
    Have a great day:D

Ah thanks pammy and nto, I suppose its hard after 2 years to keep the interest levels up.

Today was very tiring but great, it took double the time it should have to get there due to the rain and us following an incorrect sign a few times :rotfl:

2 1/2 hour queue for "saw", then managed to get them on it again in 30 mins at the end of the day , ds2 does'nt do any big rides but went on saw once at the end of the day, his own choice and he was TERRIFIED  shaking and nearly in tears but very proud of himself.

Another bonus was it was torrential rain at home but dry all day where we were.

So at the end of today I am trying to rack my brains to think of anything I have done thats mse :o

    • used my merlin annual pass to get a 20% discount off coffee and doughnuts
    • bought a comeback cheap ticket for £15 (full price £42) for my little brother to come next time, not really mse though as we will pay for it :rotfl:
    • did not buy any souveniers(sp?) as the shop was shut as they ran to a ride at the last minute
    • did'nt not have tea as we are too tired!
