I had a chat with dh last night and it now transpires that we will not have to invest any money in the business from our pockets, it can be worked around another way. So fed up with the length of time everything is taking to sort out there.
Anyway, I shall continue to op at the moment and have decided it might be best to try an offset instead. I have seen first direct mentioned as being good on a few posts, the rates don't seem bad and at least we will have more flexability, however I will need to resist spending the op's! I'm sure someone said that they will hold an offer for 6 months which means I could apply now for may, I think I will give them a ring later to find out more.
I might try and do a list of things i will have to get ready for the new year, I need to open new savigns accts, I applied for ing but never finished the paperwork, plus I need to learn how to do spreadsheets and sell on ebayI know, you would think I am 86 not 36!

Morning. I love this time of morning, i can look at figures pay things before i have to worry about getting ready to take dd to school then go to work,
Im a few years old than you ,but we missed out on learning all these computer things at school.I self teach and dd helps. I have been keeping a spreadsheet every month for the past year, put every spend on it.
Good news about not having to put your own money into the buisness.
My dh is still driving me crazy:eek:.Hes spent some of the ppi and now refuses to tell me when hes likely to be paid:eek:.You would honestly think i was doing all this just for by benefit.:(
Good luck with th mortgage

That's great news you don't need to invest, what a relief for you. We come off our tracker April 1st so can secure a new deal with current provider from New Years day. I considered switching providers but my maternity leave pay is dire and the payslips prove it!
We're considering a fixed rate and reducing the term to capitalise on the OP's we've already made. If only we knew how long the 0.5% BR will stick around for.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Oh dear! I am very lucky that I get to sort out all the finances and he tends to go along with the choices I am making, thank goodness they are fairly sensible ones now. If I suggested a sports car though on the cc, I am fairly sure he would agree to that as well.
Its hard and you have to make sacrifices to pay it back, but we are getting support from each other on here while the oh's have to go without some things and be patient , sometimes for a long while. Is there any way he would agree to splitting the money in some way so you can be sensible with some of it and he can waste the rest?!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hi cath, thats bad news about the payslips, surely they must take into account your normal wage in some way?MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Maybe they will as my regular salary is also specified. Might be worth at least enquiring. Lots of time and effort is involved in this money saving isn't it! We'll have to share tips!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Another busy few days, I did the cleaning job with my friend yesterday which i think will be very good for me, its like an exercise class that I get paid for doing, my lovely kids relieved me of my earnings when I got home to pay for the school charity night though.
Mortgage wise I have spoken to first direct and I can reserve a mortgage from 2nd december and they will hold it for 6 months. I think we might go for a 2.99 offset. I have not been through the affordability though and on the online calculator we only just scrape through. A am a bit twitchy about getting an offset as a few years ago we had a one account that we ended up owing about £20K more on after three years. However we were very reckless back then and hopefully I am a lot more sensible now.
We are going away tomorrow and I still have not packed yet, so I best get a move on.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Still not finished packing, taken dog round friends, taken all kids cases to mums and am still tidying up and putting washing on. Hopefully will get away some time later this morning!
Its a horrid grey rainy day here, last year we went to the same place the same weekend and it snowed while we were there.
Will quickly transfer dh's wages around all the various bank accounts and then get started, have a good weekend everyone.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
