My DDs the same with homework, in fact when I sitting with DS2 doing his (he is the same as yours, hates writing but loves maths) and DD doesnt really get much homework, she said she is going to ask the teacher if she can have more!! Dont think that will last but she loves writing and reading.

As for ebay, my sister sold large sizes for a while and think she did ok but not great. The trick is to find a niche in the market but there are so many sellers on ebay isnt there?

I have had a dribble of surveys but not many this week either. And dooyoo I have given up on but will see it through to my next £50 cheque.

Thanks for the reply Pammy, I think I need to give lots more thought to selling on Ebay, maybe eventually a fantasic new idea willl come to me! (Probably not :p)
Have looked for part time work and there does'nt seem to be anything that fits in with the school run and holidays, except the odd bit of cleaning I do sometimes, which is good, but to be honest not very regular, and is after a few hours work I have a dodgy back for days, must be getting old!
So something less physical and more lucrative is in need :D
I have not done anything MSE today, and have gone way beyond the food budget this week, buying some yummy treats for fathers day from M&S.
    I will start a-fresh tomorrow :)

I looked on here at a thread about a company called aspire which is work from home call centre typre thing, it looks like a few people do it on here and you have to a training course before you are accepted. I work part time already and it would affect my benefits if I did this extra. Think they said its about £6-10 an hour depending on how much you get come through to you, I think I might see if my sister wants to do it.

Well I have overspent this week, basically I have spent £30 of this weeks food budget on clothes (for DH) and flip flops (me) in Primarni yesterday, this is just the sort of stupid thing I used to do all the time, hence the £20K debt last year :o
So I have decided to try and get through the week on the remaining £25. Well the £9 that is left now, as i just went Mr Al today and got fruit and packed lunch bits for the kids.
So, the challenge is to make it last, made a batch of curry with leftovers (sweet potato and lentil) so I can have that for a few days, DH can eat all the odd frozen bits in freezer, the kids should be fine as I have a few packs of chicken in freezer, some veg, and lots of fruit !
I may have another go at homemade pizza again as well.

I could borrow a bit from next weeks money, but at the moment we are still on trck to make the maximum O/P in July of £274, and I really don't want to do anything to ruin that.

I'm hoping that by it being such a struggle this week that I will think very hard before doing anymore unplanned spending. I've only just started the MFW journey, I can't be messing it up yet!

Hopefully it should help with the diet as well, as the petrol light on the car has come on so I'm going to walk most of the school runs, I can't walk all of them though as DS 1&2 are starting and finishing at lots of different times to each other this week, and its over an hour there and back each trip. I'll be walking all day :) Mind you I'd have a very happy dog :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day, I'm going to do lots of washing and hang it out while its nice and hot.

Don't feel bad newgirly. Unplanned spending gets us all (I get hit with it weekly at least :o) but being a MFW means that you notice it and cope rather than just reaching for the cc. I now make sure that one of my accounts always has a little left to cover those impluse buys ..... like strawberries..yum

:DHad a good day today, had a friend over for lunch, who brought a lovely fruit salad with her. Have not done that well with the walking to school though, have done six journeys in total today, but still haven't topped up, our car tells you how many miles of petrol you have left, so I tend to be a bit more brave ( or stupid!) and drive on nearly empty for that bit longer ;)

We should find out about OH money tomorrow, so fingers crossed its good news.

I am stilll trying to get some ideas for DS1&2s birthdays, one has a list as long as your arm, and one just wants cash! (they will only be 10 by the way) I am not a fan of giving cash, I don't mind so much family doing it, but i prefer to give presents. I'm not sure what to do, they don't get any pocket money and don't really get bought anything ( god I sound mean!) so I am tempted to let him have cash this year. But if I do that I will still have to get lots of cheap bits for him to open on the day, so any ideas would be great, so far all I have thought of is jars of sweets.

DD is much easier, all she wants is a digital camera, which I got ages ago, via topcashback, in the sale, bargin :D
I managed four surveys today, but the were mostly onepoll, so pay pennies, better luck tomorrow.

Just a quick update as I did'nt realise it has been a few days since I last posted, and I find I am less likely to stay on the MFW path if I am not posting all the time.
We have had news of DH extra work money, and its much better than expected :j Its enough to clear the overdraft, and also enough to pay our maximun O/P for the next 10 months (£274 PM), I realise we are very very lucky, but am going to carry on trying to cut back on what we do spend. I also have transfered to a new 0% c. card , but they have reduced the limit to £9000 so we have to pay the difference, which is £704.
The money we will get will cover that , thank goodness, and there is enough left afterwards to put away £400 in the VSP, hopefully for xmas. (There may have been a bit more than that left, but I accidently bought four rolls of Laura Ashley wallpaper that I have been after for ages!) It was half price though, so very slightly MSE.

I am feeling very excited about checking my mortgage balance afer tomorrows monthly payment goes out, sad I know, but it does definatly give you a big boost. I can't wait to pay that £704 off the 0% c/c as well, as I have combined my mortgage and 0% card together on MSE for my grand total.

It is going to be an expensive month though as its DD, DS1 and DS2's birthday, plus we are having a party for the boys, and a very grown up meal in the local Indian for DD and seven friends! DH said he will pay for the latter though, just hope he does't forget he said that.
I think I shall check in again tomorrow and update all my figures, It has to be done straight away, as I am now officially an MSE anorak!:money:

    Thought I would update on the mortgage figure;

    Mortgage :£159252.28

    0% cc :£9706.15

So a new grand total of:

    £168,958.43

I am quite pleased with how quickly the balance is going down, I'm sure we have had years in the past where we have not paid off as much as we have this month!

I still have the money to op for July, I will do that on the 1st, I also have to pay off £706.15 from the cc as the rate changes at the end of this month, and my new 0% card only has a limit if £9000.

I seem to have had a really good day for surveys today, here are myl ittle moneysaving efforts for today:

    • a world record of 70p on one poll
    • VO 50p
    • 2 pairs of free rubber gloves to trial
    • topcashback new stuff now confirmed(total now 107.05)
    • Pigsback 40pts
    • 45p off £10 of petrol using mr t voucher
    • Joined virgin think tank via VO, not sure if its any good, it pays out at 50pts, but if you don't get 50 in one month they are wiped out, does anyone have any experience of them?
    • started buying goodies for DD party bags, manages to find eyeshadows in primarni, £2.00 reduced to 10p each,so bought 8.(any other ideas for 13 yr old girls would be gratefully appriciated!)
    • Have done a weeks shopping today, overspent by £3.00, but bought lots of frugal food like lentils/chickpeas etc. am going to try a receipe for houmous if I can find one.
    • Have booked DS'S quasar, £100 for 10, including 2 quasar games, food ,drinks,ice-cream,team photo, and invites, so not too bad I think , and they have'nt had a party at a venue since they were 5, so its long overdue! I realise this should not really be on the list, but I wanted to add it anyway :p
    • I think thats it for today.
Its amazing how much keener I am when its around mortgage payment date! If only I could be so dedicated all through the month.
