Bakers oven do it too but I do make my own. I make a big one and then freeze slabs so that I can do just as you do, have some now and then :D

oooh, my nan used to make bread pudding, so then my mum and me had to learn the recipe. It's really cheap, simple to make and freezes well, but you always have to put in loads more spice than the recipes say! Sometimes when it's mass produced in supermarkets etc, they haven't soaked it and mixed it enough so you get white bits in it, which are yucky! But I agree I haven't seen it in the supermarkets in a long long time.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Well, yes, I am going to say make it yourself, but I do understand about you just wanting a piece now and again. The recipe I use is from the old 'Cranks' cookbook and when it's cool, you can cut it up into individual slabs then wrap in foil & freeze it. If you take a piece out of the freezer last thing before you go off to work, it's generally nice & thawed ready for morning coffee break. I've sometimes even eaten a piece for breakfast when I've run out of what I'd normally have. It's usually made with leftover home-made wholemeal bread & has a lot of dried fruit & milk in, so can't be too unhealthy!
