O2 Nowhere near unlimited !!!!! or Fair perhaps

Options
Just got a call from O2's fair usage team.

It seems that Unlimited to them means 10 - 15gb per month:(
That seems rather LOW for Unlimted to me.

They say that the have only started monitoring usage in the last 3 months.
The guy couldn't give me a monthly breakdown of how much i use though !!!

He just quoted me a figure of 68.24gb which he said was above average and that I needed to be closer to the 10-15gb range to avoid then canceling the contract.

I use Net Limiter 2 Monitor to monitor my usage so here are my figures:
Jan 21gb
Feb 30gb
Mar 17gb
= 68gb That seems a familiar figure :D

In which case my monthly average is about 23gb which I don't see as high at all.

They will now be Monitoring my usage for the next 37 days with a view to cutting me off !!!!!:(

It has been said in the thread
"Anyone have any recent dealings with O2 Broadband's Fair Usage Policy?"

(I cant post a link to the thread as I'm new)

that O2 are ONLY enforcing the FUP on Access accounts (those who don't have an unbundled telephone exchange and so already have to pay more for less) if that is the case is that fair ???

Has anyone else been contacted by them ? If so what package are you on ?

I would have though the chance of getting out of an O2 Access contract without penalty would be one to grab with both hands. Give the connection some welly and they'll maybe let you go sooner.
  • Well its not o2 enforcing this as such this is BT as its running over thier infer structure i guess you might get this on any package that is not LLU

At the dial-up like speeds that are normal with O2 Access I can't believe that it is possible to download over 68gb of data in just one month!

I had O2 Access for three weeks before bailing out under the terms of their 'Happiness Guarantee'.

This was a typical evening browsing speed...
