Buffy, families are so difficult at times. I cannot say that I am close to any of mine except for my Grandad who wont be here for much longer.

OH has become my family, my confident and other friends including you all on here. I do get along with my family and like spending time with them but I cannot bring myself to confide in any of them.

And as far as my Dad is concerned..............I couldnt care less if I never saw him again:o thats bad isnt it:(
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Well it is and it isn't Lou. I think sometimes it's understandable. I went on a course called 'Dealing with difficult behaviours' where they gave you about 20 different ways to approach someone. Once you'd tried those you could effectively write that person off and try and limit your exposure to them.

I would suggest to Buffy that she gets closer to family members she is happy with to compensate for the gap with others. I am much closer to my second brother these days but really try to limit contact with my dad. I also walk away as soon as he starts on one of his pet topics (the public sector/female MPs/ public sector pensions/how to bring children up/overweight people) basically any topics where he is desperately trying to press buttons.

That's the worst thing about families. They know where our buttons are and some of them just like to press and press and press.

Thing is it isn't as she is nasty. No button pressing here. Just ultra polite conversation, so reserved and no real feelings at all. You put on a show and you never make a joke or crack a smile, or relax. Its just a horribly constantly tense atmosphere. And there is no causal e mail/telephone conversation. I find it very strange.

I honestly think I might need to move out. oh dear. I m decluttering my room as I have no space and am tired of the mess. But it isn't working. I am moving boxes around and wondering about the 3 guys who have asked to meet me from POF/OK when would I meet them? how?

    oh dear.

and scaredy you know what there was nothing wrong with it - it was actually lots of fun :A:eek:

supposed to be going out room is a horrible life of grim type state.

    xxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Back from acupunture/physio. Not really sure what, if any, effect it is having to be honest but after they are all done, that will be the best time to judge.

Buffy - you need to move out. Everything around you is stifling you - job, relatives, your house, your room. I know that you want to be in a better position financially before you do, but is there any way you could maybe move to a studio flat? I really think you would feel the weight of the world was lifting off your shoulders if you could be 'you' without everything else vying for a piece of you.
