    Hi sorry to be confusing
the 1st bedroom is large enough for a double or 2 single beds.
the 3rd bedroom is 1.94m x 2.74m but because of the radiator and the door down one side and a slight bulkhead a standard bed doesn't fit.
the 2nd bedroom as door at one end and cupboard at the other which means a double bed could only go width ways and doesn't fit because of the radiator (we've tried various options) the size is approx 3.5m x 2.0m
Hope this helps as I could do with the advice

Can you put in for a swap maybe?

Are you still on the waiting list?

Do your kids need full sized beds yet? I assume they aren't that tall yet?

I'm struggling to see why you can't fit a single bed in the 3rd room, but maybe that's just me!
If it's due to the radiator and door being along one wall or whatever can you not put the bed more central in the room?Size wise it's big enough for a single bed

The second room, you said the cupboard used to have a boiler in it which means it does no longer. So would it hurt to have something against that and move it when you need to use the cupboard?

Same here. I just measured my 3rd bedroom and it is that size. My door is on the left on the 1.94m wall and the radiator is opposite underneath the window. The bed goes several ways. At the moment it is next to the radiator (about 5cm gap) under the window going between the two long walls. There is no gap to walk around it. It can also go on the 2.74m wall with the bedhead against the radiator. If you are worried about the heat from the radiator then turn it off, fit a TRV or turn it down.

That's it!I tried visualising it after working out the size in feet and given the size of a single bed really cannot work out how one could not fit in there, unless the op is thinking beds must be against walls?

Sounds like you need to have some bespoke fixes.

We've moved radiators in two of our bedrooms to make them useable doubles. I don't know the layout of your 3rd bedroom but would rehanging the door to open outwards make more space in the room perhaps? Also, lots of people have the bulkhead and build a bed on a platform over it with storage underneath.

It will cost you money to move, I think with a few clever fixes, a little money spent you could arrange things better. The third bedroom is certainly big enough for a single bed - it just needs to be bespoke - not necessarily expensive if it's MDF painted up nicely. Our carpenter made a platform bed for our son from mdf, a frame made from the same stuff he uses for stud walling and high gloss kitchen tower end panels to create head and foot boards :) You could probably get all the bits from freecycle and cheap offcuts from the saw counter in b&q if you don't have lots of cash; it's just someone handy with a drill and a saw that you need.

Your house sounds small but not overcrowded. It's what you make of it - have a flick through the Ikea catalogue to see clever uses of space.
