Well i am most impressed, had a builders quote a few months back for some work that needed doing quick. Just got the money together and my ex FiL (retired builder) said ring these blokes too. Much cheaper and with excelent references , this means I now have all the money for next years holiday and can put some to other saving / debt payments. Am a bit high, he is definatley getting a bottle of wine :beer:When it rains look for RainbowsWhen its Dark look for Stars0

evening all...
Just catching up....been out all day
Whats up with all this ash stuff? Was driving over to Fife this morning and saw one of those big road signs saying Edinburgh Airport closed due to volcanic ash and thought someone was having a laugh. Wondered if Arthur's seat had exploded. Watching news tonight and am slightly baffled!!- took pair of trousers back to Primark as was too big
- got a couple of money books (not v money saving but inspirational in the long term
) - Had a lovely day of my holiday
- Walked round dobies for couple of hours dreaming about amazing gardens
- Spend about an hour trying to work out the cheapest way to bulk buy soil
- put soil and manure into garden - particularly around fruit bushes
- checked sowed seeds - nothing erupted as yet
- got some points added to Tesco clubcard (inc a 'found receipt' at the till the other day)
- paid back dd the money was due her

Thanks all, went ok, very emotional and one of my colleagues came in on her day off to say bye. The 2 I was working with today disappeared for agggges and returned just before I went home.....with the biggest bouquet of flowers I have ever seen, some chocs, and bottle of wine and a card. I was really shocked! I am sad to go, but I think its the right time, not just for me, but for my colleagues, as the company were about to start getting rid of hours and now they will be left alone and my old hours will be axed instead :Tdetermined_new_ms wrote: »Good luck with your last day Cloesmum!!! And exciting re the new possibilities with the new job! I'm guessing that its a better job/more money/more secure employment/an area where you rather be working? Exciting stuff, and very brave! I'm completely bored of my job but something holds me back from trying my hand at something new, so good for you! I'm sure they will love you and you'll be an asset to the company:A
Determined, it is a better job, more responsibilities, more money, no weekends, going in the right direction, local to me and with the real prospect of promotion and extra hours. I am also being actively encouraged to take work based qualifications and to progress myself. As much as I loved the job I have just left, it was a bit of a side street off my chosen path, with no prospects of promotion or extra hours. As one of my colleagues said, very much dead mans shoes. This may be the scariest thing I have ever done :rotfl: and I am cacking myself.
Gorgeous flowers though, and wine always welcome

I also agree about Devon Cliffs!!! :j
We have had a few breaks there, its lovely, beautiful views, great swimming pool, the DDs absolutely love it. (though DH always says he wants to throttle Rory the Tiger by the end of it....:rotfl:)
The Country Life Museum (next to the park) is a fabulous day out too, there is loads to do there; museum, animals, indoor play, big slides, take a goat for a walk, you get the idea!
I love Exmouth and the surrounding area, I come from there, my grandmother (my mums mum) lived in a gorgeous house right by the sea, I used to spend all my school holidays there!
My other gran (my dads mum) still lives there, in Littleham, just down the road from Devon Cliffs!
Have a lovely time Lurleene, wish I was going!!
We're looking for tigers, we're looking for cheetahs,
we're looking for pandas, and big alligators,
we're having fun in the tiger club!!!!
Thanks Mogchops, I will wave at your Gran if we pass her! The Country Life Museum sounds great, thanks for the tip.0 -

Only a few bits today:
* worked from home, saving petrol
* went to Starbucks with reusable mug (from cupboard) for free coffee, so an MSE treat.
* lunch from stores
* Brunch snack for OH from food I got in Mr A yesterday (HM sarnies from reduced rolls), saving him cash at the garage on snacks.
* and you made me feel like a million dollars by telling me that despite losing so much weight it hasn't actually aged me at all!!!! I shall live with the prospect of being a saggy baggy old ratbag as long as the fizzog passes in a crowd!!! hehehehehe :T:rotfl::Dbookworm86570 -
Hi S, Just wanted to say thanks for update on abbreviations on yesterday's thread:T.
I don't need to join alcohol free threads as I'm not a big drinker:beer: but do need to lose weight so I'm hoping cutting back on the work lunches and groceries will mean I may lose some weight - is there a diet thread on here anywhere?Debt at LBM:idea: - 12 April 2010 B/C [STRIKE]6471.74 [/STRIKE]APR 19.9% M & S 4849.74 APR 18.9% Sant Zero 2487.89 APR 18.58%
