I dont suppose anyone on this thread works in or knows anything in depth about social housing allocations and banding priorities?

Some basic pointers to council housing is here

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/HomeAndCommunity/SocialHousingAndCareHomes/index.htm

The Shelter website should also provide a basic overview.

The banding/priorities are going to be broadly similar across most landlords but have a look at the websites for your local council and housing associations as they often provide quite detailed guides on how they judge an application.

Thanks I know the basics, just trying to find an answer to a particular question really.
Haven't been able to find it on the net and I forgot to ask the homelessness officer when I made my application, trying to get hold of people in the housing department is a nightmare! lol

dontknowanymore - post a new thread with your specific question as it stands more chance of getting picked up by someone in the know.

I'm a bit dubious as it's about my kids being on child protection plans, trying not to bring it back to everyones attention!
What board would I put it in though?

strictly speaking, the housing forum but I'm not aware of any members there with professional social landlord employment experience -this board tends to have more DWP/local council employees.

as its so personal and specific it might worth you calling Shelter or Womens Aid or persisting with your local council housing officer, even if its a bit frustrating for you to get hold of someone.

or perhaps someone can recommend a poster who works in a housing/homeless capacity who you could PM instead of posting the details here?
