What an awesome thread! This is our wedding so far:

Won't be having special cars, my dad's van hold's 7 people so will fit the bridal party in perfectly (I'm having 5 bridesmaids). The van will have a bow or something on it lol.

I'm having 5 bridesmaids because I couldn't choose between my close friends. I'm giving them £50 each to buy their dress and all I have said is "blue". I don't care about style or anything. I may get them bouquets off ebay but unsure.

My dress will be off ebay for around £100.

The groom will be wearing a purple kilt and god knows what colour of hair (I have requested a purple mohican for him :p)

I will do my own hair and make up, as will my bridesmaids.

Photography will be done between OH's uncle and also the best man, hopefully they will do it as wedding gifts.

Favours cost £1 per person and comprise of: Tibetan book marks (really nice silver bookmarks), a small sample bottle of Avon perfume for the ladies and aftershave for the guys, a fortune cookie, couple of Celebrations chocolates, mini dream catchers for the ladies, extra chocs for the men and a Christmas recipe card (Christmas muffins for the ladies and Christmas ale/mulled wine for the guys), all in a silver party cup and wrapped in clear cellophane with white dots. I'm a bargain hunter :D

No flowers for decoration, the venue provides a tartan runner down each table and candles as well, and candles all around the walls.

I will be walking down steps, not down an aisle.

40 guests to the ceremony and wedding breakfast and 60 more to the reception.

The cake will just be some average sponge from tesco or something. Maybe even have some whimsical characters on it lol.

Entertainment in the evening will be via our ipods.

We are looking to spend around £4k. It will be in a gorgeous underground candlelit vault. We won't have the extra frills but to us, it will be perfect. If we have our close family and friends, a lovely ceremony (having a Humanist ceremony), my dad walks me down the steps, a sumptuous dinner and a fun reception then I shall count myself lucky. And at the end of the day, if I am married to the man that I love then that is worth more to me than a £250k wedding.

This sounds amazing! can I come? :D
