How on earth is Windows 7 supposed to know that this pc will never go on the net, it's not that good
That's not what Microsoft would have you believe:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
My grandson has a computer I bought him for his Christmas 2 years ago, OK it has Vista, but it has never been connected to the internet nor updated (miserable father) yet he manages to play his games on it.
Well except for one game that he has to come to visit me to play it.

Stan - if he has never updated Vista in 2 years I would recommend he never goes on-line on his computer as there was a major security upgrade at one point due to a problem with it. There wouldn't be a problem with not updating any software as ong as you never go on-line or use anyone elses discs/CD/DVD/data sticks. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

with his (miserable father) there is not much chance of that.
His mother and (miserable father) both have mobiles and there is not a landline in their house and they won't put one in.
I offered to pay but (miserable father) said no.

What about at your house? Does he bring his computer or use yours? If he brings his I would recommend he update at least Vista. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

When I bought this laptop I uninstalled something that looked completely irrelevent, turned out it controlled the wireless card.gaming_guy wrote: »computer manufacturers bundle a lot of crapware with new machines these days, i often find it better to wipe it & reinstall windows as some programs can make a mess of the system when uninstalled.
Whoops.
Don't know why the OP didn't just tell windows to not update though, not hard.
We have to as otherwise it does it at stupid times and eats our paid for usage allowance (we get it free at night). This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

Turn automatic updates off. The default is that they're on because most computers will connect to the net at some point.
Click Start>Open Control Panel>Click System and Security>Select the Windows Update option where you'll find Turn automatic updating on or off (and other options). Select the options you want.
I don't actually have Windows 7 so I'm doing this from instructions on the net that may not be great. It will look something like the above though I'm sure."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
the fact is nearly every PC sold will go online
services and features are geared towards this
as for the crap installed on new PC's

OP should unplug the PC and put it back in the box0
