Just had call that rang when i answered it?

Just got a phone call on my mobile, number was 02081741205 when i answered i had a ringing tone as if i was ring someone else up, sounded like a con.
Anyone any idea what this was?:confused:

    It's probably not a con, but a call centre calling you and then, when you answer, putting you in a queue.

    It's NOT possible for you to be charged for a call like this, unless it's from an overseas number.

    Its not possible to reverse the cost of a call when the call is in progress.

    Thanks was a bit worried as you heard about scams which when you answer the phone they start using you line and bring your bill up.

    A Merseyside radio station was doing a "crossed lines" joke recently, calling two random people at the same time, and letting them talk to each other so each thought the other had rung them, then broadcasting the conversation.
