            Sounds like your a bit of a bully doesn't it?
 Why get so uptight about who has accused you of threatening them, you know who you threatened and why you did it.
 You don't like people standing up to you, like all bullies don't and are getting all shirty over your own bad behaviour aren't you bully?
 I have made no such threat at all, which is exactly why I am unhappy about such an allegation. How would you handle it? I am in fact one of the most placid people on the team
 I want to know the details of the allegation so I can launch an internal grievance against the person and clear my name.
 And let it be known, I don't care for someone who knows nothing about me making judgements or assumptions based on a question asked in a forum.Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0

 What would your grievance be then? If someone has genuinally felt the need to bring a grievance against you even if disproved then all what will happen is the investigator will say your grievance was declined as the person you were bring the grievance against did it a genuine matter and with no malice.......if you are 100% sure there was malice intended then it maybe worth it however if you're not sure I can't see it benefitting anyoneAlways ask ACAS0

            Very poor management on his part unless he is suggesting you look in the drawer to see what is going on.
 No surprise there then! Heard an article on the radio recently that stated only 1 in 5 managers in the U.K have managment qualifications.

 :T I definitely agree on this! That's true, your boss has a poor management style! It's just like he is taking sides already and pushing you to do something out of bounds like -if you want to know who that person is, look into my drawer- kind of thing. This is not being professional at all. If I am the one being accused of something, I guess I have the right to know the details, as I am directly involved. I also have the right to defend myself for whatever it is that they're saying against me. I hate this scenario, I am sorry that this is happening to you. :mad:0

 If your boss thought it had any merit; I'm sure he would have taken it further. I was once accused of bullying a member of staff. However, I was actually just asking her to do her job [shock horror] and had been blind copying my boss and the senior person in her role into all emails, so that if either of them thought I was out of order they could let me know.....and the complaint went nowhere as there was absolutely no evidence. What the management should do is to look into it; which I am presuming he has and has decided that there is no case to answer.0

 In my opinion if a manager needs to do that then they either lack confidence or the actual skills, or their own line manager don't trust them.0

 Good good practice when you inherit a staff member who is insistent that they are not going to do the job they are paid for.
 We knew that ANY manager that was going to be line managing this person [in a Quango that refused to ever sack staff], was going to be accused of bullying at some point - history told us that she was trouble and it was only going to get worse...so needs must.
 In a normal, private company, I heartily agree. However; in this instance - it was 100% necessary to prove that bullying was not happening.0

 That is business suicide. But as I don't work in the private sector unfortunately I can relate to that. But luckily where I work now they dismiss people if there is a serious enough reason. If people think they can get way with anything the situation becomes unmanageable.0

 Tell me about it.
 I am still the only manager that worked there that managed to get a member of staff dismissed. I left about 4 years ago and apparently that's what I am remembered for. Probably why they gave me this member of staff to 'look after'.0
