Out of curiosity does taking the money constitute a contract made ? I'm not going to cause a fuss over £12.50 but if it was £100's I might .

2.3 We take payment from your card at the time we receive your order, once we have checked your card details. Goods are subject to availability. In the event that we are unable to supply the goods, we will inform you of this as soon as possible. A full refund will be given where you have already paid for the goods.

See the T&C's above , they take your money without knowing that the goods are available , don't deliver if the goods aren't available obviously , then shaft you by refunding your money with no consideration at all . One crap site , one crap way of doing business . They could sit on £1000's of pounds for a few days earning a nice little bonus . The way shopping should be conducted is that money shouldn't be taken at all prior to despatch .

Hey guys, here's some info that might help you all. Spoke to someone at Debs this morning and was told that whilst my order has been processed ok - money taken! - there is actually a 21 day delay on the order, as it comes direct from Foggarty rather than Debs own warehouse. So to clarify, it hasn't sold out, rather there is a delay on delivery from the manufacturer. Apparently, Foggarty are usually really good, and the order should get to me well before this estimated deadline.

I was also informed that the information on the confirmation email and on the website is incorrect and orders of this size and nature are NOT on 5-7 day deliveries, rather 7-10 days!

I didn't cancel my order but did ask if Deb would note my concerns about the lack of communication regarding the delay etc, and if a goodwill gesture would be forthcoming as I am a 'Brand New Customer'. Ha! I was told my points would be noted.

Anyhoo, am expecting the set to arrive at some time this month, most likely on the day that I pop out for 5 minutes, thus missing the delivery.

So just a quick heads up for y'all, and hope this helps.

  • Got this email:

    Dear ********,

    Thank you for your order.

Unfortunately, we are unable to deliver the item below within 4 to 5 working days.
The item is despatched direct from our supplier and has a longer delivery
time than normal. We hope this is convenient for you.

    Cheers OP, everything seems OK:beer:

Surprise, surprise my credit card ( which was debited 2 days ago) is today showing a refund from Debenhams. No email, nothing!

So as I commented earlier on the thread, not holding my breath. It was worth a try, but from past experience of Debenhams probably not worth the time and effort.

    Hope others have more luck..............
