3 Dongle - what SIM

Options
Hi,

I have an expired 3 dongle but I need a new mobile inet connection (light use).

I see 3 do a inet SIM 1 month contract (but only works in a 3G phone).
3 mobile SIMs seem to give 150BM with each top-up - but would it work in the dongle?

Any ideas the best way forward?
Or is it that I buy a new dongle/SIM and start again?

Many Thanks

I have heard that people get the "mobile phone" SIM with unlimited internet for £5 a month and it does then work in a 3 dongle.

Might be worth seeing if anyone else on here verifies it. Otherwise there's a list of all the payg mobile broadband deals here http://www.chooseisp.co.uk/.../mobile-broadband/pay-as-you-go.asp
  • It does work, but I think doing so breaches the T&Cs or something so they can block the SIM if they figure it out. Mind you I use my phone SIM card in my dongle when I'm away from home and they haven't moaned about my usage or anything :) 150MB isn't much tho, esp if there is a minimum topup? A £10 top up gives you 1GB of mobile broadband so it might work out better value, depending on your circumstances.

I am away on honeymoon for 2 weeks in 2 weeks so I might now wait until I get back.
I am looking at the T-mobile offers - a 3 months dongle for £44 with £10 Quidco I think it was.

    Many Thanks to all

If you like T-Mobile then better you get their PAYG option; £18.99 with £10 of credit and £10 on Quidco/TopCashBack.
The first £2 of credit usage will give you one month of browsing, leaving you with £8. Add another £22 for the extra 2 months. So £41 minus £10 with Quidco for 3 months, with more flexibility to move on if the service proves unreliable.

The modem can be 'unlocked' at no cost and another SIM can be used.

A phone sim will work for £5 if you are a very light user. However if 3 suss you they will cut you off - so pick up another free 3 sim PAYG from the shop and off you go again
