MSE Pregnancy Club 18

Hi all, I finally had the "Oh my God, we're having a BABY!!" moment this morning, so time to jump in here I think!

We already have a DS who's 20 months, and I'm 12+3 today. I'm already booked in for a home birth, mainly because labour with DS was under 3 hours, with only 12 minutes in the delivery suite. Scary to think this one could be faster, but I'm actually looking forward to having this one at home.

OMG its just so not fair all you ladies seem to have super fast labours mine have gone 72hrs, 24hrs and 12hrs. Ok kevin moment over now :-) x

but they are getting shorter xmas.... should be even shorter this time then for you...

Hopefully i can halve it again this time 6hrs seems much more reasonable to me :-)

Mine first one was 5hrs. Hopefully I make it to hospital in time. But I have to wait for my mum to come pick DD up then get to the hospital. Luckily the hospital is just round the corner but still. I'm quite worried. but hopefully I just sneeze and she comes out

I like this theory for this reason:

DD1 was around 12 hours

DD2 was around 4 hours

Based on that I am hoping for a labour that lasts a little more than an hour

Congrats Kym! Sounds like you had a brilliant birth, hope my water birth goes as well.

I need a moan I don't feel well. Have been telling MW for 2 weeks my bp is too high (well, it's not technically hypertension but it's shot up from what it was at 16 weeks) and I still feel poo. I have itchy arms and feet and 2 weeks ago they did the bile salts bloods and nobody has phoned to say there's a problem so I'm kind of assuming it's all OK even though I'm still itchy. I feel hot/cold and clammy and sweaty and my feet are sore but not very swollen. I have been sick today and feel faint. I think I might be dehydrated so have been drinking plenty of water and juice but still feel unwell. When I rang the MW last week she just said rest and drink water and as long as baby is kicking (it is) not to worry too much

I ache like I have the flu and I'm fed up. OH has just come in and woke me up and although he has done the washing up and made me a cup of tea he has now gone on the X Box until his tea is ready :mad:

Call your maternity unit and say you aren't well and are being ignored :eek::eek:

On a bad day I think it'll take about 45 mins to get to hospital... or longer:eek:

We have plenty of practise runs to time it anyway!:rotfl:

I'll get so used to the delivery suite and staff... and I bet I don't manage to get to hospital on time to use it properly!!

RLT is supposed to make it all quicker isn't it??? I didn't take mine today as I thought I'd better not:o
