lol I'm glad I have you girls to share it with!
bl00dy Sainsbury's man wouldn't carry the shopping up to the kitchen. So furious! I've just written a complaint email:
I am writing to complain about the appalling service I have just received from one of your drivers. I am not only angry but also very upset.
I regularly order groceries from Tesco and Asda and recently used Sainsbury's for the first time. Tonight was the second and unless I am satisfied with your response, final time I will be using your service. I will also not be spending another penny in a Sainsbury's store.
I live in a maisonette/ flat which is above and shop and therfore on the first floor. Every delivery driver I have ever had (over 2 years of fortnightly shops) has happily carried the shopping up to my kitchen. In fact your website states that your driver will be happy to bring the shopping to your kitchen.
Tonight your driver refused to carry my shopping to my kitchen. He mumbled something about 'are you having a laugh' and said 'it's our backs, we're not meant to'. This seems not only to contradict your own website promises but also the service I have received from all the other drivers, whatever the supermarket. I also fail to understand why someone who cannot carry bags of shopping would be employed as a grocery delivery driver.
Additionally the driver actually presumptuous to ask 'where's your other half, he should do it'. It is absolutely none of the driver's business where my husband is or who carries the shopping in our house. For all he knows my husband is disabled or I am a widow.
In all of this I would like to point out that I am very obviously 7 months pregnant. I actually ended up in tears once he had gone.I was seriously distressed when he refused to carry the shopping up for me, and as my husband is out for the evening have spent 45 minutes taking one bag at a time up the stairs. It has taken me a long time because in pregnancy I am suffering from serious back and hip pain. I can now guarantee that tomorrow I will barely be able to walk because of the strain this has put on my hips and back. I am absolutely appalled that someone would leave a distressed, heavily pregnant woman surrounded by £85 worth of shopping which she clearly was in no state to deal with. And for this I paid £5.50 in delivery charges.
I look forward to hearing from you how you plan to compensate me for this terrible service and the physical pain and distress it has caused me.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

Brill letter Rach - I just annotated a little error (sorry, I really should have been a teacher) - I hope the driver receives an entreme bollocking!!

that's awful Rach, a disgrace. You could even point out (if not sent already) that the reason you ordered online was because of your condition etc....
hope you're not suffering too much.

That's not good Rach what is with supermarkets and carp service, just been ourselves and the guy at the checkout basically ignored us
Hope if it is the start PP things go smoothly . . .
Got a week of work now :j:j got lots planned already, but need to wash some of bubs newborn clothes esp beg of week as may be quite warm and sort my bag out just in case. Then I've got 2 weeks back at work then I finish, is quite scary to think soon I won't be working.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

I'm finding it scary after this week I only have 2 weeks of work left! It seemed to drag initially but now it's flying by. I haven't got much left to do in preparation, just wash couple more sleepsuits, bit more bedding, put the pram up at my mums to get the creases out, master the steriliser and monitor and of course have the baby!0 -
Thanks guys, thankfully DH came back and carried it up but I'd already taken some up and by the time I'd done that and put it all away...I had egged that bit up a bit in the complaint
(was quite a big shop!) bump was hurting! DH was a bit mad that I'd accepted it at all but I didn't realise you could just send it all back! The point is I usually get it delivered when I'm working from home and I really would've been stuffed then!
sir monster I hate it when they ignore you. tigtag I missed that!
Just watch Toy Story (the original one) which I'd never seen, loved it!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

How lovely ethelsmum, think would be bored if I stopped now and will be busy in work for my last 2 weeks. As I do training it pretty much winds down in August anyway so didn't just want to come in to sit in the office (esp if its hot seems pointless). I'm sure it will fly by Rach.
DH is doing tidying up now, which is good but then expects me to help - sorry can't face it after 10pm, would rather do it in the morning . .Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces
