in terms of doppler, my madwife has to push it in quite considerably rather than just gliding on the surface, are you laying down whilst trying to find it or sitting up?

Have you looked on the direct.gov website to see if it gives any ETA's?

I do lie down when I do it but I have to hold the doppler at a different angle to what OH does so maybe thats the problem!!

Friday is Chinese at the in laws night - if OH ever gets home - I'm starving :rotfl:

Maybe its the angle hun.....i can imagine given how the m/w holds it when she's doing mine, that i'd never be able to find it!

Looked online and it doesnt really say much, aside from when it should start, unless you were claiming after the 14th wk before baby is due, which i was, and I gave date I wanted it to start. It does say if there are any questions they will contact you, and ive not heard owt.....oh well monday i'll phone them xx

cafcgirl- I am waiting on my MA as well. I got confirmation I would receive the full amount and sent back the form saying when I wanted it to start, which I put as the 5th of this month. I also requested 2 weekly payments rather than 4. Wasn't sure if I would get a letter confirming my first payment date or if I should just get my first payment next week, so I am patiently waiting now for next week and see what happens.

Mine gang up on me.....

I manage to get comfy in bed, baby calms down on the kicks and then Daddy wants to say hello so strokes belly and then they kick off playing chase with each other, with my abs getting the brunt of it! :rotfl:

ymake - I havent had anything sent to me at all as yet, but I put on the first form you send when I wanted it to start...and I wasnt sure if it was paid in arrears or not.... I went for 2 weekly payments as well, just makes budgetting for things easier for us.

Well it took a week from me sending my claim to me getting the form saying I was entitled to the MA. Then I just had to send the form they sent with that once I had started maternity leave saying I had stopped working and when I wanted payments to start from, even though it was already on the original claim saying when I wanted payments to start from. Such a faff around!

hmmmm i feel like something has gone balls up with mine then.....

although I wasnt working when I applied, but I've worked in the test period....

They dont make it easy though do they?! That form was the bane of my life for a good fortnight!

I think mine is a straight forward claim though, as I am registered self employed which is why I probably heard so quickly. I was just hoping to have a letter to confirm the first payment date, I'm keeping my fingers tightly crossed it starts next week lol
